That guy is getting demoted and would have to work under me if he stayed. I know this dude personally. He's been at this job longer than me.

The guy will be demoted regardless. Unless you did something underhanded to have him demoted, why is this important.

BTW if you have a problem supervising someone who has been there longer you might not be ready for a promotion.

There are over 14,000 McDonalds in the US. Apply for the french fry position and make the move. Learn how to keep the ice cream machine working and you will be able to pick whichever location you want to move to.

Does not compute.

I'd take the double pay in an instant. Just move somewhere just north of Lafayette...have a 30 minute or so commute to work and a short trip to the Lafayette for everything else. Would be a lot better than living in Thibodaux

Going or not is not a choice. You kind of have to go. I commute and it sucks. If there is somewhere decent to live close to where you work, live there. Commuting involves 3-4 departments, with badges and guns, that are instructed to write you as many tickets as possible.

There are a lot of welfare people in town.

quote:

The median income for a household in the city was $12,917, and the median income for a family was $18,056. Males had a median income of $29,798 versus $16,563 for females. The per capita income for the city was $9,672. About 43.5% of families and 50.9% of the population were below the poverty line,

Them being so poor will open you up to sexual predators. The cutest girls in town will be trying to get your baby batter in them. You will be the local equivalent of a pro athlete or rock star.

There is good hunting and fishing close.

Save the cash for retirement and bide your time to transfer to somewhere else.

Good luck.

I say Happiness over money

But I really don't give a eff about money. Easy for me to say: I don't want kids

140K is not balling in lafayette. It'll get you a spec home in youngsville and maybe help you pull a little tail at corner bar.

Not that Ville Platte is a dream destination, but not wanting to leave Thibodaux is some pretty perplexing shite.

And as one poster said, you got Lafayette less than an hour away from VP, with double the pay, this is a no brainer.

When Thibodaux living is "living the dream" you really haven't gotten out much.
