Im living in thibodaux. No wife or kid. Pretty much living the dream. Love my job. There is a position opening up I was strongly encouraged to apply for in my company. I'm one of two people in consideration. It's a promotion and would be double my yearly pay. The problem is it's in fricking ville platt. I don't want to not apply and not show any want for upward mobility. At the same time I really like living here.
Plot twist.
Where I would be taking over. That guy is getting demoted and would have to work under me if he stayed. I know this dude personally. He's been at this job longer than me.

You can live in Lafayette and commute. Its not that bad of a drive.

Thibodaux isn't really as bad a what people on here say. Decent schools. Fairly cheap cost of living.
