As soon as I read the first post I immeadately went to the " she was talking to someone about something she should not have been talking about. This horrific murder is both to stop her but more importantly to send a message to the rest of them as in this is what happens to snitches or people who step out of line.

Without question, every official in that town is as corrupt as you'll find. Especially the DA. They know exactly who did it and have for a long time. But because they are so deeply intertwined with the drug dealers and criminals in the town, they will never be able to file charges in this case. It will go unsolved for "lack of evidence." I'd be more than shocked if the initial mishandling of evidence wasn't intentional. Sad situation.

Seriously, people always default to this "Large Scale Conspiracy / Corruption" thinking when, in reality, 99.99% of the time (especially in small communities) it is just outright incompetence. It's not that they don't want to catch the bad guy, it is just that this is the first time something more serious than stealing a lawnmower case has fallen into their laps.

I'm pretty sure the local authorities almost immediately gave the case up to MBI and federal officers, who deal with more than missing lawnmowers.

Satanist are all over North Mississippi as well as usual upper-class pedofile ring. If she named a prominent person nothing will ever happen.

Anyone seen the surveillance video of her at the gas station prior?

Who is the guy by the car that runs off?

According to this article, the name she gave was Eric.. but she didn't know his last name.

This is so weird, I wonder how she knew his first name. Said she was firm about it and repeated it several times.

That's got to be a small community to begin with.. wtf..

Typically I would agree with you about the conspiracy theory aspect. And yeah obviously the majority of small towns don't deal with crimes like this on the regular. However, there had been several murders and "suspicious" deaths in the few years before Jessica's murder. Jessica's brother died in a suspicious car accident just 2 years before her. This is not incompetence. This crime happened at night, just off of a heavily trafficked highway. Whoever did it, had it well planned and knew it had to be done quickly because of the risk of being seen by people passing by. The scene was staged to look like she lost control and ran off the road. Prolly would have worked if she had died.luckily It was called in very quickly by a passerby.- then she supposedly told the fire chief the name "Eric" before being airlifted to hospital. Police chief Was on the scene within a few minutes. So They definitely knew it was not an accident, yet within a little over an hour from arriving, the burned up car had been towed from the scene. The tow truck driver stopped at a gas station for a drink, and allowed the store owner to get onto the truck bed to take pictures of the car, which he immediately posted on Facebook. The crime scene was only partially taped off and then left unattended all night. They were gone within No more than 2 hours. A charred windshield wiper was left behind on the ground And a reporter had to alert investigator to a piece of a cell phone in nearby ditch a few days later. So it was painfully obvious that they did not even attempt to properly follow ANY crime scene protocol . And yes, they did call in the atf and MBI to help- but not till several weeks later- and with a crime scene as bungled as this one, any evidence they may have collected from it was essentially worthless.

Also, The majority of Jessica's family was well known to law enforcement and had extensive criminal history, especially her dad. It was no secret that Jessica was also involved with several drug dealers and rival gang members over the last few years. Her house was shot at a few weeks before she was killed. This is a town that has a population of 500 people- all of whom either know each other or are kin. No doubt in my mind They know who killed her.

Yeah the ATF and MBI were eventually asked to ASSIST in the investigation. The FBI also got involved later on and put up reward money. However, the case was never "given up" or just turned over to them. The "Lead Investigator" is still the Panola County Sheriffs office.

That was one of the theories pretty early on in the case... But after more information on her past, her familiys past and the type of folks she associated with over the years was uncovered, it' looks more like she got herself into some pretty serious shite that she couldn't get out of. She also had an assault charge wiped off her record right before checking into the rehab program for female addicts and domestic violence victims. I think she copped a deal of some sort or gave up some info and somebody figured it out. (It was also discovered several months later that the FBI had been in Panola county before the murder investigating an interstate drug trafficking ring- obviously This could just be a coincidence... I suspect we'll never know!) Something like this would also better explain why accelerant was poured down her throat before she was lit on fire.

Reading through this thread has gotten me all fired up.

But on a serious note this kind of stuff makes me think about that movie "The Counselor". Okay movie but there is really one amazing scene with the lead character talking to his last possible option begging for help. The guy basically says that he's now made certain choices and become involved in a world that there's no escape from and is filled with darkness. And that world has always been there separate from what we view as normal life.

Always makes me glad I didn't try to make money selling drugs.
