Jeopardy champ turns to life of crime

Stephanie June Jass, 47, of Tecumseh was arraigned Tuesday, Dec. 5 in Lenawee County District Court, after an investigation by the Michigan State Police Cyber Command Center, the state police announced in a statement.
The command center began the inquiry after staff at Adrian College alleged Jass may have impermissably accessed several college accounts.
Using the services of a computer, computer program or network without authorization or exceeding authorized access within Michigan is a violation of state law, according to the statement.
Jass is charged under an act that prohibits such access for "certain fraudulent purposes" and damage, destruction and alteration of networks, programs, computers and data. It is a felony punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
