I cannot say that now. A young kid was shot in my neighborhood a few months ago - he was walking to the park with friends. It didn’t even make the news. He survived but no one knows who shot him.
A few weeks ago, there were 8 gunshots a half a mile away. Probably just random, but what the hell?
On Labor Day, a man tried to get into my house when my husband wasn’t home - he would not leave until I pumped the shot gun.
I will not list the other instances in which the ‘non existent’ crime has affected me. I am not scared because I will blow someone’s brains out - especially if they touch one of my kids - but I’m not stupid enough to think I can’t be attacked first. I have to make sure no one is in my driveway when I go outside because people have been robbed on their own driveways in this neighborhood. Ironically, I’m a stone’s throw away from the new city of St George.

Remember in this thread when you called me ignorant for previously citing anecdotal evidence that American cities aren’t a disaster in need of the national guard? I sure do. Yet here you are with anecdotal evidence about why it’s all so bad, from your home that is—in your words—in the ghetto.
Perhaps it is time to take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself which decisions you made that brought you to living in a dangerous ghetto with kids and think the national guard should come help clean it all up. You live in the wealthiest country on the planet where fast food workers can make $40k, people walk a thousand miles through the least hospitable areas of rugged terrain just to get a shot at getting in, but you can’t move out of Louisiana.
