Wally was a feminist long before it was cool. When his friends called him a pussy for letting a girl drive him around, Wally took a stand by parking his arse in the passenger's seat.

For all the jokes about Leave it to Beaver, a parent could let their kids watch that show without fear or concern of messaging or content. The same can not be said of most shows directed at pre-teens today.

Back in the 80's, WTBS wouldn't have been the same without shows like this.

True except for the very special episode with Andy the Alcoholic.

I remember seeing Tony Dow appear on The People’s Court. No mention was made of his Wally character and it was a mundane case. Judge Wapner started grilling Tony, saying he recognized him from somewhere but couldn’t place him.

Sad he passed. The show is still on MeTV and values were a lot different then.

There was a Leave It To Beaver reunion planned for a Comic Con in November in Tennessee. It was scheduled to have Wally, Beaver, Toohie (SP?),Judy, Mary Ellen Rogers and Violet Rutherford (Lumpy's sister). Not sure if they'll still have it now.

Makes me think of the quote from the Simpsons

“Hello, I'm calling from Delinquent Accounts at Kumatsu Motors. Homer: Oh, you want the Mr. Plow who plows driveways. This is Tony Plow, you know, from "Leave It To Beaver".”

Saw a clip many years ago where Tony's wife surprised him with restoring the first car Tony ever purchased from his LITB money and that was an old 60's Corvair. Always stood out to me that here's a guy who could have afforded Corvettes but chose the Corvair instead. Likeable guy, RIP.
