PPP helped us out & we have low overhead but I don’t know if my business will be able to make it until next summer with things the way they are now
PPP helped a lot of people (and a lot of what I consider big business, cough cough Catholic Church (and I'm Catholic), that didn't need it really) but I bet you will shite more money than you get from the Feds until after Nov 3 and I'm not optimistic about any even after that.

It's weird how so many of these restrictions are aimed at alcohol.
Bars - obviously getting crushed.
Restaurants - people can hang and eat past 10pm but you can't give anyone a drink.
Casinos - you can stay and gamble til 4am but you can't have a drink after 10pm.
Sporting events - you can go to the concession stand and buy a coke, but alcohol is prohibited.
What's the deal here?

After reading more about the restrictions, I think it’s safe to say that phase 3 is the official death sentence for bars in Louisiana as we know it
I think some guys will probably be able to ride it out...guys like Mark Fraioli at Fred's he will probably make it out to the other end (now it will suck for his employees)....other guys that depend on that crowd every Thur - Sat and are still building wealth...doubtful for sure.
Small town bars are going to have to say frick the rules to make it.

Alcohol impairs decision making?

I don't see how any bar is able to stay open with these restrictions until possibly the middle of next year (or longer) if (A BIG IF) there is a vaccine.

In a shite hole state like Louisiana, alcohol makes up for alot of these venues revenue.
Socialist governor wants everyone living off the govt tit. Deny it all you want, but this is becoming more and more evident. Our elected officials have failed us.

And yet you can buy it at any grocery are convenience store. These rules are irrational and stupid and just the latest attempt to cling to the power. And of course you defend it.

I wasn’t defending it you frickwad. It was a guess hence the question mark- OP said “what’s the deal here?”

Your shtick is clear as day. You bend over for the government overlords as long as they have a D behind their name.

Well I will say that pride works in a hospital and deals with the numbers and probably does get access to different directives at various points in time.
Don't y'all remember when Pence came down here and issued different suggested guidelines for Louisiana because we were "so bad off"?
Not saying prides not wrong or taking up for him but there maybe other restrictions that we've not been told.
That said, I think what JBE issued today sucks and someone (looking at you LA LEGISLATURE) needs to do SOMETHING.

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to hell for saying this, but I’m pissed off at the WH too.
I’m MORE pissed off at JBE, sure, since he’s ultimately the one making the decisions. But let’s not act like the White House hasn’t encouraged it. They abdicated responsibility to the governors early on, briefly acted like they were going to take it back, and then went back to encouraging governors to “call their own shots.” That’s when the administration issued the original three-phase reopening plan. Then, when Kemp ignored it and sped up reopening in GA, Trump said publicly: “I'm going to let him make his decision, but I told him, I totally disagree.”
The administration’s actions have supported shutdowns and given governors the cover to point to federal guidelines and say “the White House recommended this.” Fauci isn’t in charge of the task force. Mike Pence is. Even if Fauci were in charge, he ultimately works for Trump, who has never been afraid to fire anyone in this administration.
A few “open it up” tweets don’t change any of that. I’ve been listening to people say “judge him by his actions, not his words,” for 4 years now. Well, his actions sure make it seem like he’s more in agreement with the governors than he wants people to believe.
So yeah, frick JBE for continuing to shite on the small business owners and service industry workers who are barely scraping by. But also, frick the White House for playing both sides, refusing to lead, and trying to avoid any accountability.

If I owned a bar, I’d sell drink tickets starting at 9 o’clock that could be used any time after 10pm. Sale goes in before 10, drink goes to patron after.
Don’t see how that doesn’t comply with the mandate.

Others have said the language is no drinks “served” after 10 PM.
That said, a place that sells buckets might be able to get around it. Or maybe pitchers.

Yep
I can’t stand Birx
But these are also just guidelines for the Governor so JBE doesn’t have to follow
