Did the poly board get shut down by Covid as well. Just bring all this political stuff there. There is a whole section for it.
You can RA to have it moved. But the testing data, and JBE’s daily briefings have been covered here.
This thread is in response to today’s briefing.

Our parish president has reported that half of the 400 cases in Iberville parish are in the prison and nursing homes. So really only 200 or so cases of people out in about out of a population of 26k.But let's keep it shut down.

The plateau cases are likely due to there being at a minimum that will continue to stay.

This is good stuff and the Zurich’s / nakamotos in our states media should hammer him on it.
I hope one of them (or someone with a backbone) digs into this and sees where every dollar of federal relief ends up.
We’re punishing citizens of this state and their families so Edwards can collect 150 million which will no doubt be funneled to the most ridiculous causes imagineable.

And it drives me crazy how he keeps reporting the total number of cases rather than focus on new cases. Total cases is only good for the history books. And it's not just him, it's the media and it's the Karens of the world who want to stay locked in collecting their government cheese while walking around with a mask, gloves, and a tyvek suit while dousing in Lysol just to go check the mail. Fresh with a brand new case of agoraphobia/germaphobia.
The parameter that anybody should be focusing exclusively on right now is new cases. That is what tells us the propensity of this thing to spread out. And it looks to me like it is trending down, and has been for two weeks.

Frick off you miserable piece of shite. You're probably one of those guys that said the "rolling average" was over the course of 14 days, not day-to-day.
The overall trend is down. Frick you for supporting him and frick JBE for keeping this state locked down another 15 days with fake stats.

Pretty sure he was fricking with the OP

Unfortunately, this decision was made before any of that data was put up as a reason.
This....and it will be extended again to the end of the month and that decision has probably been made already too.
Hell, folks are wanting to shut down things until the end of the year right now everywhere in this country having no idea where we'll be with this in a month....none.

Guess what... you’re still locked down because Jon Belle said so

an additional $150M in Federal Aid.
Someone help me with this. Didn't watch the briefing and maybe haven't been paying enough attention. Does staying shut down get states federal money that they will not get if they open back up?

If LA spends $661mil, then its 90% federal 10% state. Less than $661mil, its 75% fed 25% state.
Difference of $99mil.
About 1-2 weeks ago, I saw an article stating LA had spent around $550mil.

Yes
But I wonder if juice is really worth the squeeze. It's easy to say he wants the $150m and take it as fact but how much tax revenue is he losing due to lockdown?
Is there a way to quantify that? My guess is no because we'd have to work off of hypotheticals and what-ifs. I'm not trying to defend John Bel but wondering if there's solid ground to stand on to get news outlets attention

Him claiming the numbers are increasing when at best they have plateaued at the bottom of the trend should be enough to call into question his interpretation of facts.
Why he is misrepresenting data is secondary.

That's one thing any executive should know; if you build a hill to die on, you better be fricking right.
He needs to be called out on the carpet on this one.
