That’s exactly what you did.
No, I based my decision on the advice of 2 life long friends that are in the medical field and what precautions they were taking. One is my cousin, a nurse anesthetist for 10 years after putting herself through school; and the other a friend who spent 15 years in cardiology in the Navy (worked for a few years at Bethesda and his wife is in the same field), before retiring and going into private practice in Michigan.
I also have a contract with a large school board that I could lose if I got it depending on how the decision makers reacted.
The fact remains, and is not debatable, that this virus is one of the most contagious things we have ever seen. That was the reason for the original reaction, not knowing exactly how deadly it is.
Now that we all know it isn't nearly as deadly as they feared, the "experts" won't admit it and some are using it to push agendas. Now it has gotten to a point that there is going to be more death due to the economic situation than COVID if we don't get back to work in the next few days.

We told you this wasn’t based on science, we told you this wasn’t based on data, we told you this wasn’t based on saving lives, but you called us ignorant
People are angry, but this is literally what they asked for.

I think that’s what pisses me off the most. JBE and his Department of Health have shared the data but think we’re either too stupid, lazy, or ignorant to look it up. Then to make the claim as he did...it’s insulting to me as a resident of this state, and anyone that’s fighting to keep their job.
They know there are intelligent folks out here, but they also know the media will tell his story and his base will lap it up. There are more of them than us. The election demonstrated that. He told lie after lie about how well our economy was doing and not our mainstream media said nothing.

Our parish president has reported that half of the 400 cases in Iberville parish are in the prison and nursing homes. So really only 200 or so cases of people out in about out of a population of 26k.But let's keep it shut down.
That would explain why the census tract that includes the prisons on the east bank of the river in Iberville has one of the highest "infection rates" in the state.

Kinda figured that.
I still wonder how you got the COVID?

I started the night I got to Nola on March 12th. Was there for a comedy show that got cancelled 40 minutes before it started. I don’t necessarily think that’s where I got it from though. The symptoms would have come on too fast. So Kids we’re still in school at that point. I was still going into work. Who knows.

It isn’t even close to as contagious as measles, chickenpox, mumps, and a host of other viruses
And that’s actually not debatable. Those viruses are 4 times as contagious. You are letting your vagina make up lies in your head

I thought nationally deaths were down?
Wasn't that all the talk a week or two ago?

The Swiss just did a study proving that kids are absolutely terrible vectors for spread and this guy is trying to say it’s one of the most contagious viruses ever.
You can’t make this shite up.

Originally it was just 15 days to flatten the curve. Well, the curve is flat

If you were lucky enough to live in an area that got hit before the shutdown started, you’ve been well passed the plateau. It’s the places that did too good of a job staying at home before the virus ever really popped up in their area that are now being called the “problem areas.” Crazy, right?
