Peter Dinklage is the spokesman for actors with dwarfism, didn't you know? His word is gospel in that community. It has nothing to do with eliminating the competition in a very niche branch of acting or anything.

Wee Man is actually a great representation for dwarfism, in my opinion. His skits on Jackass emphasized his size. He used it to his advantage and made people laugh. He showed he was a normal guy just like everyone else, just small. He wasn't ashamed and didn't hide it.

Some of the funniest shite they did played around with that.

One was one of the other members of the crew running into a porta potty in a rush then Wee Man coming out in the same clothes afterward.

Another was a domestic situation between three small individuals at a bar which turned into a circus full of small people as cops and paramedics dealing with the situation.

TLDR - Jackass employed more little people than Snow White.

They cast Blanca and the 7 weirdo libs.

The issue I have is if they think that Snow White doesn't work in today's climate and they don't intend to stick to the source material then why not just call it something else?

They basically said that snow white doesn't have to be white, that the dwarves were offensive so they are just using odd folks and that this won't be a damsel in distress movie where the prince saves her. Again, if none of the core pieces of snow white are going to be adhered to, then why not just call it "Blanca in the Woods" or something?

You still get to make the woke drivel that you would like to make without ruining a classic that you already have.

I know they cast Ariel as a black woman in the little mermaid but they at least stuck to the source material.

I have no problem with actors playing something that they are not, such as gay. It's called acting for a reason.

There's a big difference in other cases, such as race, and obviously, with little people. If the character is supposed to physically look a certain way, it is rather stupid to cast people who don't have those characteristics.

This was great. The bar patrons were trying so, so, so hard not to laugh their asses off.

This is so sad

As a small statured man (5’6 3/4) (I don’t like to use the s word) the discrimination we face today in society is way worse than any people group has ever faced in history. Every day for us is literally limb crow, being discriminated against because our legs aren’t long enough. And now we’re even being blackballed from Hollywood. It’s all very sad

Ironically, he got the role in GOT because the character is "defective." Additionally, he played a giant in Thor for satirical reasons.

I don't think he even really said that those kinds of roles shouldn't exist at all. It seemed he was really just saying he hates those roles when they are written as stereotypical "HA HA TINY CLOWNS" w/zero character development that often gets used w/dwarfs in fantasy movies. I thought it felt more like a rant on lazy writing than anything.

Yep. Even with their latest venture into Shark Week with the Jackass guys (He is one of the few OG Jackass guys still working with them btw), they did a stunt where they used him as "bait" trying to entice a certain species of sharks that would eat baby sea birds who couldn't fly great yet. So they dressed his little self in a chicken suit and bobbles him in a shark cage near the surface .

And it was hilarious. And he had a great time with it.
