I find it hard to believe that pipe bombs in coolers were set out in the French Quarter and no one said anything. It doesn't make any sense.

It makes perfect sense.

I mean, unless they were see-through coolers with "CAUTION: PIPE BOMBS INSIDE"...nobody is paying attention to a couple of coolers in the Quarter.

In the video he said "I joined ISIS before last summer"

Dude was a failure in life and died a POS loser/failure. And as tragic and as sad as it is, he probably thought in his head that he'd kill hundreds of people.

Google street view, and you'll see there are holes for bollards exactly where that guy is walking.

There are none on the sidewalk nor steps.

I'm trying to visualize him walking down Bourbon at 1 AM when its probably still crowded carrying a cooler. He walked with that at least twice from 10 blocks away?

Just depends on what type of cooler it was.

Could've just been a small lunchbox type cooler. Could've been on wheels.

If I’m walking through the FQ and see a cooler, I wouldn’t give it a 2nd thought and I wouldn’t think to open it, at least until now. I’ve see plenty of things lying around in the FQ.

I'm not touching anything on the ground in the French Quarter and recommend wearing old shoes and throwing them away afterwards.

Do you think that there should be bollards at every intersection in the city?

Can we get a bollard board, good grief?

I’ve opened a random unattended cooler once in my life - and the smell that nearly knocked me out ensured I will never open another one ever again.

After helping with hurricane cleanup I will never open a random cooler, much less one sitting by itself in the FQ.

They are generally, and most effectively, made of concrete and steel. Not boards.

Right. I just imagine if it was a small cooler, it would be pretty obvious immediately upon opening what it was. If someone has the balls to open the cooler in the first place, I don't see why they wouldn't rifle around to find booze if it isn't there are first glance.

He could have parked closer to the other end of Bourbon and walked a short distance to drop them off then got back in the truck and drove to Canal.

Park where? I bet people were parking in front of his Air BnB to walk to the quarter.

Most of the folks down there at 3AM were blasted I imagine, plus the kind of person who is going to open a random cooler, probably isn't the most intelligent person.

A cooler full of nails and pipes is just going to look like crazy, homeless person trash to them.

Kennedy's comments yesterday add fuel to that fire.

This is part of the reason many on here were so critical of Kennedy’s remarks. Is he going to get on TV now and either account for the histrionics, or tell us we’re being lied to?

So, how about it, Senator? Care to explain yourself, or was the moment just bigger than you, got you caught up, and you unnecessarily alarmed your constituents? We’d all like to know, sir.

My guess is we’ll all be waiting a while for the explanation.

Could've just stopped in the middle of the road, grabbed a cooler from the bed, placed it on the sidewalk, and then drove off.

Honestly, I'd likely just think it was a dude dropping off New Year's Eve provisions - if I even paid him any attention to begin with. I'm assuming most of the folks out at 3:00 AM were not in the clearest state of mind...
