his stinks of a cover-up. Walking back the "others were involved" statement should send up red flags to everyone
When he mentioned no others involved he emphasized greatly "no evidence of it AS OF NOW"
Take it for what its worth.

Did they release the footage of him planting the IED's?
Don't believe so. If they have, I surely haven't seen them.

I’m not saying that’s the scenario, I’m just pointing out that there’s some odd stuff being said and a lot of these cases end like the vegas shooting or with one of these “he was on our radar” stories.
The case I was referring to several years ago, the guy shoots a couple cops while under federal surveillance. They tried to completely sweep it under the rug. I think there is either previous interaction with the feds or his military background is a complete shite show.
We’re being told by the media that a bullshite IT guy had plastic explosives and remote detonators and at the same time a green beret made an IED out of fireworks and gas cans.
Obviously, there is a lot of debate about the safety measures in place or not and being used properly or not. Clearly, the city and NOPD were complacent that a police car would stop a drunk driver from driving down Bourbon Street
I Think there is Another underlying story That Kennedy is alluding to because obviously he has been briefed with at least some part of it.

If I’m walking through the FQ and see a cooler, I wouldn’t give it a 2nd thought and I wouldn’t think to open it, at least until now. I’ve see plenty of things lying around in the FQ
I wonder how many coolers will be reported as suspicious during Mardi Gras now? That could easily shut down parades and disrupt things just investigating the reports.

I’ve opened a random unattended cooler once in my life - and the smell that nearly knocked me out ensured I will never open another one ever again.

I agree with pretty much all of this. As far as the timing, the only thing I can think is that he wanted to “plant” the devices during the peak hours thinking that no one would notice. Maybe that process took longer than he anticipated? Not sure how much sense that makes, I would imagine Bourbon gets packed on New Year’s much earlier than midnight

IEDs planted right after midnight / 1AM
This makes me wonder if posters on here were right when they said the truck may have been the backup/last minute plan bc the devices he planted didn’t go off? Maybe he was having trouble detonating them from where he was and was going to try again as he was driving down Bourbon and that’s why he had the detonator with him.

Interesting visual. If the bombs were placed farther down bourbon, I wonder if his plan was to drive down the entire street and then detonate the bomb as he drove by them in the truck?

And just like that, victims' blood gets introduced to the city's sewer system.
Not even the first time this happened.

He was already near the end of the road in the truck, no pun intended. There was construction in the next block or so. I think he probably planned to bail from the truck somewhere in the area that he ultimately hit the lift, maybe a block further down or so.
Body armor plus two guns says he was planning to then get out and shoot, then probably set off the bombs as people ran in that direction. Or perhaps set off the bombs to send people toward him.
Hitting the lift probably destroyed his plan as he likely lost his detonator in the crash, and it stunned him long enough for the cops to be on him.

Do you think that there should be bollards at every intersection in the city?

This is what I can't figure out. If he already scoped out the area and dropped off those bombs did he not see that he only had 3 blocks of bourbon st drivable before all the construction making the rest of the street impassable starting at Canal?
Thank God these two veterans weren't very smart in their planning

Google street view, and you'll see there are holes for bollards exactly where that guy is walking.

I'm trying to visualize him walking down Bourbon at 1 AM when its probably still crowded carrying a cooler. He walked with that at least twice from 10 blocks away? Also, what was the final word on the Decatur IED?

I think the truck was always planned because he went to the trouble to mount the flag and he also went to the trouble of renting an EV.
An ICE vehicle would've made more sense, if he were just using it to travel to New Orleans.

Not at all. I'm just poking at the people who are harping on the bollards. Not sure how they are going to cover Poydras from building to building and remove all the cars blocked in.
