If anyone doubted that you are a hysterical idiot you removed all doubt with that post.

What about the videos he posted pledging his allegiance to ISIS right before the attacks?

Why were the politicians so anxious to call this "terrorism"? My opinion is that there was nothing to gain and lots to lose by immediately jumping to screaming terrorism when you have a city full of tourist. My first instinct would be to be the voice of calm and not create more panic and chaos for your city than what is necessary.

Did the politicians need this to be a terrorist event in order to remove blame from themselves for mismanagement of the security plans?

Did they want to exploit terrorism so the city and themselves are seen as victims and receive sympathy?

Did they want to exploit terrorism for federal funds?

It's just a really bad look for a city that depends on tourism to be yelling terrorism and creating panic across the city.

never understood why they don't have hard points on the sidewalks that double as trash cans? It's hard to truly shut an area down; however, there are some low effort ways of strengthening an area without going full Patriot Act.

Yea it’s not particularly hard to have a few protections. No one is shocked by the concrete posts around federal buildings in the area or Jackson square

It’s not perfect but a little bit of insulation around high value targets

Have they released the footage of the 3 men and a woman who they thought were planting bombs? How suspicious do you have to look for police to think you are going around the FC planting bombs if you weren't?

Has there been any update on increased security measures for the Sugar Bowl today? I’ve seen some articles, but details are sparse and the governmental platitudes we are being fed aren’t making me feel warm and fuzzy.

From what I’ve read, they’re pulling in LEO resources from all over the state to help with security and screening.

What would you call a guy driving a truck through a crowded, blocked off street with an ISIS flag hanging off the back of his truck?

Part of the issue with them protruding onto sidewalks is the impact it has on people who are wheelchair bound or handicapped. No easy solutions.

Looking at Broadway in Nashville they seem to be installing bollards in the last couple years, but there aren't 100% for someone wanting to commit such an attack as this.

There are a few places with gaps for side streets and whatnot.

Probably because it was terrorism? Half the people here were frothing because they wouldn’t call it terrorism in the few hrs immediately following the attack.

So now they called it terrorism too early when it was terrorism so there must be some ulterior motive?

How is Beale Street in Memphis secured? That may be the closest to Bourbon? Does Beale have bollards on sidewalks, too, or is it just the street?

Don’t remember the bollard situation but Beale is pedestrian only.

As someone who worked on hardening protections around the globe for Dept of State assets, I have a different opinion. It would’ve prevented what happened in this instance. It’s not grandstanding. Your opinion is apathetic at best.

Make them wider than a wheelchair but narrower than a car?

Put them more than a wheelchairs width away from buildings but extending far enough up the block that it’d be a real challenge to hop the curb and get through in a car?

So you have a vested interest in these things being installed. Your opinion makes more sense now.
