Definitely not an obscure app.
Especially if you have a specific car you want to rent in mind. Which these two seem to have.
True, fair point. Maybe not obscure but it's not as common as others.

I own more firearms than most of this board.
I’m so confused why you’re so against something so cheap and logical to protect the cities most popular tourist attraction.

then the story comes out about surveillance footage showing 3 men and 1 woman planting the other IEDs and then all of sudden none of that happened?
no, they said they were investigating footage of them to determine if they were planting IEDs. they later said they were cleared.
you not paying attention and reading words that aren't there doesn't make it a conspiracy.

I'm now seeing why Senator Kennedy is pissed and threatening to go forward with information if the FBI doesn't tell us the truth. He knows something.
I don’t trust anything coming out of that blow-hard’s mouth. I also don’t trust the FBI.

Because for many reason already discussed in this thread and others, it won't stop someone from doing this.
And if it stops him with a car, it won't stop him from using other means.
How much "common sense" stuff do we need to do to pretend we are safe in public from crazy people like this?

This. I’ve heard it and read it several times this morning.

We were told all day yesterday that there was security footage of 3 men and a woman planting the bombs.
no you weren't. that was a leaked communication from the FBI to police departments.
quote:
Video surveillance from the French Quarter seemingly showed three men and one woman planting explosives at multiple locations, a federal alert to police departments around the country said soon after the tragic attack.
the FBI did not tell the public that because it was not confirmed. you're mad at the wrong people here.

I didn't realize that info wasn't confirmed. So much info coming out yesterday that it was hard to decipher what was true and what wasn't.

Negative. Supposedly they were at a base at the same time. Military bases are huge and it has never been reported they were in the same unit or known each other.

Being at an enormous military base at the same time does not equal serving together

What would you call a guy driving a truck through a crowded, blocked off street with an ISIS flag hanging off the back of his truck?
This is the danger of over use of a term. It's exactly the same as how racist has been exploited and now has no real meaning anymore.
Terrorism should be limited to a coordinated and planned violent event by multiple people. 9-11 was a terrorist event. This is looking more like a one off person that self jihad without anyone else knowing he was going to do it. It looks more like he used Isis as some type of excuse in his mind for the anger self victimization he had internalized.
If he planned this with others, law enforcement would know who at least some of the others are and put out a public advisory for person of interest.

That’s my attitude this morning….but I don’t have a family member that died there.
frick terrorists. We need to deal with them harshly and quickly; and we can’t let them influence our lives more than absolutely necessary.
