But if there are no plans for bollards in the sidewalk then what’s in progress would be the equivalent of a cop car parked as it was.
Idk if bollards in the sidewalk there are part of the plan. If NOT then they make no difference as to what was there. A cop car.

He just would have plowed them over. Police would have had their guns drawn and aimed at all cars passing in that right lane of Canal St.

I really don't understand why you come here.
If every single thing that is ever posted about every event/story isn't true to you, why bother?

Stop it. A regular f150 would have done just as much damage
Maybe, maybe not.
EV's are much heavier, quicker and absent of engine noise. Google says the truck has a 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. If not paying attention you probably wouldn't hear it coming.

agreed, need to block the sidewalk too. there shouldn't be a problem with making spaces large enough for wheelchairs but small enough that cars can't get through.

If the corner would have been manned instead of the cops sitting in their car, this could have ended much quicker than 3 blocks.
The car was going to be pulled in about an hour.
The cops were all bullshitting on the corner because things were winding down.
You can hindsight and whatif this shite to death, but truth is the street was going to open at some point.
2019 incident illustrates the ability. (30 second mark)

3am on Bourbon in a crowd you aren't hearing a regular vehicle accelerate at you either.

Capitol Building Bollard ring
It’s something as simple as this.damn things only cost 7500 per bollard. One on each sidewalk in addition to the traffic control device in the street would’ve deterred this event

Exactly what I mean. If those cops are standing out there; he may not have tried to turn or they would have been able to start firing on him

He’s looking to cherry pick pieces of info that please his monkey brain.

The Lightning weighs over a ton more than the regular F150 and probably accelerates a lot faster so it probably does a lot more damage. But the idea that it could sneak up on the cops is ridiculous.

No need to waste money on this now. No one is coming to Nola after this. Nola tourism is gone for good.

And because of these, those who want to do harm will find another way.
There is no way to keep people safe 100% of the time.

On all streets in the FQ? Still not gonna stop something like this from happening again if someone is motivated to do so. You will just change the location by a block or two.
Think about how crowded the convention center is when a conference lets out in the afternoon. You could easily kill more than this guy did. Same for people walking around the casino/aquarium/ etc. How much money are we willing to spend for the illusion of doing something that would help at all?

The FBI is still investigating whether there were individuals Jabbar spoke to or messaged with prior to the attack but no one was in the vicinity to help him do anything, the sources said.
Are they saying specifically Bourbon Street or New Orleans in general?
I'm going to say sucky reporting because no one helping him doesn't make sense with the Air BnB determined as arson.
