I would be MUCH more comfortable waiting in the dome than being in the route.
That's actually what I told her. Security after this will be top notch at the Dome (one would hope).

Rece Davis has twice referred to this incident as a “terrorist attack”. Can his haters on here breathe easier?
ESPN home page still has “truck attack”

The superdome itself is much easier to secure and very hard to do enough damage to bring down/cause huge casualties inside. The parade route, in the other hand… nearly impossible.

There’s been video of him shooting and the cops shooting him after the crash.
I missed that part. I read that two cops were injured + the terrorist was shot, but didn't realize that the driver had been in a shootout. Thanks.
Sucks that this guy survived the most dangerous part of the attack, then lost his life in the brief aftermath.

Maybe he got caught in the crossfire between police and the driver.
Fair chance. There were a whole lot of shots fired and all of those went somewhere. Could have been shot by a cop. There's no telling at this point.

My wife is very uncomfortable at the moment with her waiting in the Dome with my family while we ride our route.
Would not surprise me in the least if a number of marching bands cancel their marches this year due to safety concerns from parents.

His mosque is telling it's members not to cooperate

People don't really talk about it much but cops kill people unintentionally in situations like this, cops killed quite a few responding to the Pulse nightclub shooting.
It's sad but definitely does happen

I’m hoping Murrill misspoke
The timeline for the fire was laid out as both the Bourbon Street call and Mandeville street call came in at the same time (Mandeville maybe a couple minutes later).
Obviously a fire could slow burn, but that timing would be pretty amazing if he set the fire then drove to Bourbon and Canal.

Sooooo the replay of the press conference earlier, Landry reiterated that there are multiple suspects. I get that can change, but he was just very clear that they were looking for multiple people.

No one trust the fbi. Literally no one.

The shootout can be seen in the following two videos which happened right after he crashed and police approached his vehicle. In the second video, you can see an officer fall after the shooting starts.

Truthfully, I don’t believe anything reported as true or not true in the first 24 hours of any terrorist attack.

You had to go back 3 months to find a FBI New Orleans twittee post to get mad about? What a loser.
On top of that, he thinks that it hasn't been posted in a 200 page thread that isn't even 24hrs old.

Which makes it weirder he waited till 3:15am. Bourbon still has a crowd, but nothing like he would have run into earlier in the night.
Wonder what time a bunch of the extra police got off duty? Could’ve been waiting for less resistance for a longer attack.

Easy solution. Co-operate or Gitmo

quote:seriously? most of these have almost no density... a different universe to Bourbon St. The only pedestrian traffic is walking from the parking lot to the bar.
Anywhere in uptown Dallas along McKinney Avenue, Lower Greenville, Knox/Henderson…anywhere in Midtown Houston, Washington Avenue, 19/20th Street.
