I've nearly beaten cancer

Declared to be in partial remission today - had testicular cancer diagnosed at the beginning of Feb, docs found cancer spreading north in my lymph nodes. Had the surgery then went through 3 months of living hell with chemotherapy. Had a pet scan yesterday and docs say the tumors have shrunk by over 70%, expected to continue and there was no new spread. As for now I'm released to go back to work and will have to do bloodwork every month and have to get another pet scan done in 3 months to make sure the tumors are in check.
I honest to God would never wish what I've been through in the last 6 months on anyone. It has been hell, physically and mentally. I've lost my hair, lost my 4 year long beard, eyebrows, nasal hair, body hair, teeth are effed up, my stomach still gets squirrely when I eat, my hearing is jacked up with constant ringing, etc. It has been a miserable, miserable, miserable 2021.
Hopefully this is my new lease on life - I feel like I've been given a second chance and I'm not going to screw it up. Be thankful for your good health, baws - the alternative is absolute misery. I was an extremely healthy dude all the way up to this started then suddenly I was spending more time in the hospitals than I was at home.
ETA - Ochsner cancer team is awesome. They've taken extremely great care of me during this.

You have no idea how many times I've had to correct myself with that. It's singular now!

I'll have a beer to that.
And I'll never miss a doctor's visit or put off bloodwork thanks to IRL friends and OTers sharing their stories.
Glad you're doing better.
