Pete Davidson has been going through this process of getting all of his lasered off. So it's not permanent necessarily, but painful and expensive to have them removed..

Eh, I can. Current position and potential are ahead of the typical schedule for my age.

I not sure exactly what you're saying.
People aren't being turned down for white collar jobs because of tattoos.
People smart enough for white collar jobs are smart enough to not get them in the first place.

70% of America is obese or overweight. Goes up every year. I think you have to be obese to be an elite member at disney

My best employee is a Marine with two sleeves. He keeps them covered.

Bro who are you preaching to? The tons of 18 year olds on this message board?

They all have tattoos now.

No it doesn’t. If you’re the best, you still get hired. Tattoos are very acceptable now. However, get a neck or face tattoo and you show you’ll make bad decisions thus lowering your potential career options. There’s a line in the sand for most things.
ETA…we have 130,000 white collar employees. We hire the best based on skill. Way too big to not hire someone because they have ink. It would actually hurt the company.

I think you’d be surprised how many of your anecdotal sample size actually have ratios. I worked in public accounting for a little over 10 years, majority (90%) of the guys I worked with did not have visible tattoos. For the women, I’d put that estimate around 50/50 for the younger, under 30, accountants. Almost all of the older “divorced” accountants I worked with had them (may say something there
)
I know about 2 dozen engineers, and only 3 of them don’t have tattoos.
In the IT world, it seems the norm is to have tattoos

just noticed today that in public, I see maybe 30%, maybe even 40%, of people with tattoos. In my career at several different company white collar offices with engineers, lawyers, HR, finance, accountants, marketing, etc., I have never 1 time, not once, seen someone with tattoos. Most of these jobs people were allowed to wear polos, so their elbow down was completely visible. Only 1 job did I have to wear dress shirt and slacks. What does that say if 30-40% of the public has visible tattoos, but 0% in white collar offices in my experience have them. This is a warning if younger people are wanting a tattoo. It kills your job and career prospects or at least brings your chances down some. You may read on Reddit that it doesn't, but it absolutely does to old school managers.
This might be the most outdated post of all time.
I don’t like messy looking tattoos etc but if someone having ink is a problem for you and they have put the work in to become a medical doctor or nurse I hope they leave you suffering next time you have an issue.
This will help you understand the ink doesn’t make the person
Very judgmental. I was once saved by a bunch of people and they all had tattoos.
This is from a person with zero tattoos and is a dorky frickstick accountant/ investors

I guess the op assumes most people get forearm and face tattoos right out the gate.

I work a white collar job and have tattoos. Hell, even my boss has very visible tattoos on his hands

In the last 10 years tattoos seem to have become much more in the mainstream. One thing that I’ve noticed is the amount of young people (under 18) who have tattoos now. That’s crazy to me.

I agree with the OP. A dumb arse fad that people regret later.

Just spent the last four days in Disney. I can say, unequivocally, that the latest generation of pasty, doughy, androgynous malcontents have nearly all made incredibly poor ink decisions. And I would say the ratio was likely 3:1 tatted.
“Look at me! I have five generations of game controllers—starting with the original Nintendo—down my right thigh and the Powerpuff Girls down my left!”
“You go, grrrl! Check out my Pokémon arm sleeves!”
“That’s Boss Bitch AF, queen!”
