By the time this all ends, Tulane will need to be a gated University.
The people with money won't be coming back, and the poor will just continue to rot until they give up.

I’ve always wondered what would happen to uptown if Nola ever really collapsed. There’s so many massive and beautiful homes.

Why are the hard working, taxpayers sitting back and listening to her and other mental midgets in charge?
What’s anyone going to do if thousands show up for Mardi Gras?

I'd be wiling to bet a bunch of people from out of state come not knowing it's canceled.

it's not about the individuals. it's about the companies. Businesses will not defy the govt. the ones who have tried failed.
also, you need a permit to parade. police involvement for traffic and safety. so much more to having a parade than simply showing up.

Uptown might follow the lead of Canton China.
When all hell broke lose there, all the foreign legations abandoned the mansions they owned on an island in the river.
Locals moved in and split each floor into two floors and appear to have one or two rooms per family. Lucky families took over the roof tops for gardens.
The tourist oriented Swan Hotel was built on that island and rooms overlooking the mansions were unforgettable. We were there on our honeymoon and the geese living in the midst of a garden several floors below our room were healthy and loud. Walking by the mansions, you could see how bamboo had been used to build scaffolding and the windows lighted two rooms. I wonder what's changed in thirty some years.

Yeah, I doubt that’s the route the local New Orleanians that remained would take.
They’d loot the hell out of them and burn them to the ground.

Not sure if some of the people realize it about Nola, but there are a shitton of nice houses in Lakeview, Lakeshores, Lake Vista and parts of mid city.
It's not all just ghetto and then fancy uptown.

100% agree. I will never understand why some people want to destroy cities, economies, businesses etc over a virus that kills less than 1% of the population.

A lot of those people are government workers or welfare leeches. They don't give a damn about people needing to run their small businesses or to be able to work at one to make a living.

Some people have had family members die from this and don't want more to die when a potential solution is just around the corner.
Not my line of thinking, but I am not so ignorant to not understand theirs.
