We have a Dollar Tree near us. It's the best place to go for Christmas gift boxes. We get other holiday stuff there as well. We usually do the cookie tins at Hobby Lobby when they go on deep discount. But Dollar Tree is very useful.

It is not a fun trip to make though. It's sketchy AF around us.

We always go on candy and snack runs there. We also buy books, art supplies and little toys to keep on hand for small visitors to our home ( small wood airplane kits, kids books, coloring books, hotwheels, etc.)

They sometimes get random lots of good stuff. I have bought really good kids tshirts there, packs of pokemon cards and giant bags of the marshmallows that are in lucky charms.

Items I purchase at Dollar Tree:

School/classroom supplies
Greeting cards
Gift bags (this is huge, you can get a big size bag for $1, that same bag is $4 or more anywhere else)
inflated balloons especially Mylar ones
Aluminum foil pans (if I run out of the big packs I get from Sams and haven't had a chance to drive back to Sams)
Dish rags / car wash rags

I know what I’ve never purchased there. (Dollar General)

Diet 7 Up for my bourbon.

Pretty sure they don’t carry any sugar free soft drinks.

Dollar Tree has cards for $1. Even 2 for $1. Talking Hallmark brand birthday, anniversary, and other event cards.

I never go there for anything specific. If I do its usually because someone else has stopped and I want to walk around.

The Dollar Store or Dollar General? There is a difference between the 2.

Sure is. DG is like a compact Walmart.

The greeting cards from Dollar Tree are usually 2 for $1. That's better than paying $4.99 for a Hallmark greeting card that is going to say the same shite as the Dollar Tree card.
