Baws here make you feel like it is no big deal and then you turn on the news and the headlines read we are at war.

That is typically the case. The news doesn't make money downplaying things, and the baws here will take the opposite view of whatever the news says. I don't blame the new in this scenario b/c this is a serious virus and people need to be taking it seriously. There are many of us staying at home as much as possible yet plenty of dumbasses that think they shouldn't have to be inconvenienced by staying home.

There is a reason public opinion of the news is something like 13% positive.

I hate to admit it, but the OT is a closer representation of the real world than any news outlet.
It is a bit disproportional white male, but after that it does represent reality.
It does include
-All races
-All genders (there are only 2)
-All income ranges from mom's basement to actual millionaires
-Education from GED to PhD
-Straight and Gay ('sup Toddy). Frick the transgenders
-All political sides
I trust the OT over news any day.

Other than little bits and pieces of Tucker Carlson I haven't watched any cable news channel since this has started. I go on the websites of local TV stations and newspapers several times a day because they are way more in touch with what is going on on a state and local level. National coverage of this is pretty worthless because the situation in every state and town is unique to that area.

Its because we have no ulterior motives in play so we look at things more logically. The media has an agenda, so they must make you feel something in order to get a call to action. Its one big orchestrated effort to control the sheep.

We all got some hidden motives
, but I pretty much agree. 99% of us do not have a financial stake in the news, so we can peel back the onion for the truth. Of course there are a few drama/attention seekers, but they are hanging out in the COVID thread up top.

We have 3000 deaths..and less death worldwide than we had on the US from H1N1..think critically and it s obvious this is hysteria
