re: It hit me yesterday that it’s December and we’re still like this. Is there an end?

That's a last resort and one likely to fail miserably.
Not what people want to hear but it is true.
It's a faster track to submission.
We have the keys to stop it legally, using the federal system provided. Use them.

When do y’all see a return to normalcy, if ever?

Have they ended "opt out?"
I went with that for a couple years before accepting the new normal of body scans.
Being familiar with government operations, the scanning machines are probably more of a lobbyist/contractor factor than a conscious attempt at tyranny, but there are many roads to authoritarianism and most aren't well thought out.

Both of those are rare exceptions to the norm. They don’t help your case at all.

May want to refollow the posts, wasn't my case to make/defend. I simply asked a question...primarily since I haven't flown in awhile.

Vaccines won't fix it. It won't stop until the government can admit they overestimated the virus and when have you ever known the government to admit they were wrong? There won't be a revolution because we lack a leader willing to step out and organize one. And by the time someone comes along we will be too far gone

governmental control and the evaporation of our freedoms
You do realize that this is a virus that can affect anybody and did so at a rapid rate? Hence why shutdown and certain activities were halted. There's a difference between closing down to prevent the spreading of this infection and between telling people they can't go anywhere just because or they dont have the right to. The later is evaporating your freedom, the prior isn't...
Everyone's so used to how things used to be that they only care about getting back there without doing whats needed or taking the right precautions to do so. Imagine if this was handled better back earlier this year, we probably would've been in a better position right now than we're in.
Imo this returns back to normal once everyone, or those with sense, does what's needed; wear a mask when going out, stop thinking about just yourself and not wearing one or taking precautions because "its a hoax" or "I don't want to" or whatever else BS, stay inside if you don't have to go out, stop going to bars and clubs, etc. If anything, for those with families, this should be easy common sense. And for those working, should be a time to save and invest that money.

Not sure where you live, but where I live people are basically going about their lives in a "normal" capacity. The only real difference that I'm seeing is that you have to wear a mask in some places.
This past weekend we got together with my wife's family like any other holiday.
We also had friends over one night for drinks, before going to a restaurant with them that was operating at 100% capacity and didn't require masks to walk to your table.

Agreed.
If some type of civil war breaks out in this country, whose side do you think the military will be on? Then watch how quickly China gets involved and sends help.

That literally makes no sense. Why would they want us to stay like this? Where big money making events (concerts, sporting events, festivals, etc) aren't making much anymore? People are out of work or losing their jobs and businesses closing. Some for good.
Yeah, it makes perfect since to want this to be a new normal and not go back to the old way. Why would our government, who was ran by small hands Trumper, want that?...

Trump runs state and local governments? What will be your excuse when this shite continues under Biden, who has already said he wants a nation-wide lockdown?

All this for a virus with a ~99.4% survival rate....

One thing you can't do is rush progress. I.e. the quote "Rome wasn't built in a day". Hence it may take some time to find the right vaccine even if it is every year. And even so, just like the flu shot, some people take it every year. Is what it is.
Rather be safe than sorry. Highly doubt the government wants to keep everyone home, businesses closed, and people unemployed just for kicks. But ignoring this and just getting more people sick isn't helping either. You ignore how and the way you eat, eventually that will catch up to you; high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. Ignore this and go about daily lives, more people will die

25 more days. Twenty-five.

Where were these people back in Feb/March? We should have NEVER let it get this far. Where are the lawsuits? Where are the protests? Where are the feds protecting our civil liberties?

These kind of talking points are so tiring. There were several states and many countries that have done strict lockdowns and mandatory mask requirements(even while outside) and guess what? They didn't stop the spread and have dealt with spike and surges.
One day soon hopefully common sense starts to happen by our leaders and they acknowledge that we need to open back our economies and do our best to protect the most at risk.
Hell if it wouldn't have been for our mishandling of nursing homes(especially in New York), we would be looking at 40% fewer deaths today.

This sums up their entire post. They prefer feelings of safety above anything else.
Which is why you have people in blue cities falling all over themselves making excuses for their politicians who ignore their own orders like Newsome and the San Fran mayor. They are terrified of things going back to normal.
