And just wait till Israel starts bombing Lebanon. The shite will get real then. I do think we get involved

They've been bombing Lebanon.

ETA: That's a bit disingenuous of me. I should say, they have been bombing Hezbollah targets inside of Lebanon. The Labanese government is still on the record of not supporting Hezbollah. They're being pressured to help put down the Hezbollah threat, which they are likely incapable of doing.

Are we finally getting a sign that the ground invasion is beginning?

I'm obviously a US citizen and have the utmost sympathy for any hostages being held - especially American hostages - but Isreal has waited around too long at this point. They've given Hamas 2 weeks to prepare for an Israeli ground invasion, which means the terrorists that haven't already scattered to other areas are prepared with defensive positions, escape routes, ambushes, and traps.

The longer this wait goes on the less I believe they'll actually encounter many "Hamas terrorists" when they go to sweep Gaza from the ground. They've been given too much time to hide, scatter, blend in, etc.

I've been surprised at how lethargic the response has been.

I mean they don't need to load up and ship shite halfway around the world. It's 20 miles down the road.

*Yes, I know they've been bombing the shite out of them.

I like the slow play. It’s going to be very ugly. Giving the Palestinians time to get out give Israel some cover for what’s coming. Hamas has planned this for years. They want Israel to invade. Hamas was ready over 6 months ago.

I have no doubt in my mind that the reason Israel delayed the response was pressure from the US to hold off…
They were gung-ho until Sleepy Joe went over there to meet with them.
Coincidence?
I think not.

This is how modern western style governments act prior to launching ground invasions…. They’re deliberate.

Well I would tell that myself too if I was having to bomb civilians or supported said bombing.

Too bad it’s a little more nuanced than that but that line is just too easy for your average American to digest and repeat to their church small group. I get it.

The way I look at it, when someone starts some shite, all bets are off.

Hamas doesn't get to kill civilians then cry about their own civilians being killed.

People like you that give validation to that type of behavior are in essence, sympathizers of terrorists.

Pretty much this.

Someone who does what Hamas did then sues for peace doesn’t want “peace”, they want to not get the living frick blown out of them which they so deserve.

Especially when they use their civilians as human shields.

They know exactly how to play the soft and woke in Western Countries however and have zero problem expending their own people to that end.

Be sure to note that one of those has much more of a choice in the matter. When Israel told them to leave, Hamas blocked roadways. When Israel said they were going to blow up buildings that are strategic to Hamas, buildings that just so happen to be apartment buildings and such, Hamas said, "Do not leave. We live in our homes, we die in our homes."

Hamas uses children and innocent civilians as a tool of war. They are disposable to Hamas. Their deaths serve the purpose of garnering sympathy and rallying support, even if those deaths are wholly avoidable.

You are trying to talk logic with a guy wrapped in his feelings.

Listen au4you, no one wants to bomb kids but it’s war. Name a war where innocents didn’t suffer? You can’t and this is gonna be worse because Hamas cares more about winning PR campaigns with weak minded individuals like you than they care about their own citizens.

No but there were a lot of people opposed to an invasion and the resulting civilian casualties. The number of children being killed in Gaza is alarming and likely underreported by most of the media. You can want the bombing to stop and also not support Hamas.

You realize we carpet bombed Iraq right

He'd respond that he didn't support that either so not much of a gotcha but did we actually "carpet bomb" Iraq? You might be right and I just don't remember but I don't recall that.

Wish we could have. Maybe some of my friends wouldn’t have needlessly died too soon. If we’re going to fight…frick it, let’s fight. But, the ROEs have to be designed to “destroy the enemy”.

Was there some textile floor covering collateral damage? Probably, but nothing that would be considered carpet bombing in the military sense.
