I just can’t see the reasoning for the administration to come out so quickly and fairly adamantly that Iran had nothing to do with this.

Likely just to ease tensions. You can disagree with it, but it's a valid strategy.

What an uneducated, uninformed, foolish statement...there is not a single foreign policy expert who expects that to occur as it relates to the current conflict.

I’m not sure this is breaking news.

The Russians were the ones who got Arafat set up to begin with, have been heavily supporting governments like Syria forever, etc.

Nobody expected Hamas to behead babies. The entire world knows Hamas is an Iranian proxy. Just because it isn't being stated on Dateline doesn't mean it isn't being floated.

I don’t see how it even eases tensions. If Israel decides Iran was complicit and wants to retaliate then they will, regardless of what the US intel community says.

Israel could secure a major propaganda victory by offering to transport as many Palestinian civilians to Turkey or Iran as either country would allow, then watch both nations backtrack their rhetoric and make excuses for why it was impossible.

The comments on this post are instructive. Despite the official rhetoric from Hamas, they want the civilians to stay in Gaza. Hamas hides among them and when Israel retaliates it increases civilian casualties.

This in turn can be used to create international pressure to halt Israeli operations. Which then allows Hamas to reorganize, rebuild, and begin preparing to do it again. It's a tactic that has worked for decades.

No Middle Eastern nation wants their own repeat of the Jordanian Civil War in 1970-71. Jordan had previously taken in Palestinians in significant numbers and served as a host for the PLO. The PLO, lead by Yasser Afarat, eventually repaid this charity by attempting to assassinate King Hussein and overthrow the Jordanian Government, with Syrian assistance.

It should come as no surprise that nations like Egypt have closed their borders to the current conflict. Leaders in the region may talk a good game of supporting the Palestinians, but they certainly don't want to import them.

I’d pay to see that.

Turkey in particular did a flotilla in support of the Palestinians some years back and talked shite about Israel stopping them. Make Erdogan take these assholes.

I made similar jokes about Mia Khalifa and her support of Hamas.

Dude, I know who represents who. That was not my point, but you already knew that...

My point was clear...there is less than a 1% chance anyone strikes Eye Ran pursuant to the current conflict as it stands now...

How incredibly foolish and shortsighted one must be to actively propogate, cheer for, and promote such nonsense...

not only that, but wielding energy as a weapon just makes countries seek green alternatives even faster.

1. It's absolutely a possibility for which Israel actively prepares: Article about Israeli options in Iran from a month ago

2. I was just using that as a reason why it may be tactically wise not to show your hand if you do have intel that Iran is behind it.

In the past they've sent the fighters and bombers ahead of the missiles to time their arrivals and a safe departure.

Not a chance in hell. And the whole world knows it.

If they finance 70% already how is there any doubt who is supporting and cheering for what happened. Planning is semantics when you financed it...

Re the electricity issue, there are several reports that the biggest concern is for hospitals, especially the ER's. That will be a major problem.
