Did Qatar's threat to "stop supplying gas to the world" if the bombing of Gaza didn't stop get covered in this thread?

Sure, cut off the lions share of your economy Qatar.

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

The way its been framed in some places, it's as if things were really escalating by moving the Ford closer to Israel from the western Med. And that the Eisenhower was coming on its normal deployment to essentially build up assets. Seemed like an unnecessary escalation in some articles and a part of normal operations in some.

I appreciate the clarity.
roger that.. what made me spit out some good bourbon was a "journalist" calling the Ford the most powerful warship in the world.. I'm a carrier guy but...the US has 14 SSBNs that are infinitely more formidable....

Man, Hamas really had a hard on for that music festival. I thought it was more a target of opportunity as they were moving through.
But it had to have been planned because the location is miles from anything and they sent a lot of guys there, sealed off the roads, and stayed in that area for at least a couple of hours. Many victims that had been hiding came out only to find them still there and were killed or captured. It just seems more deliberate, purposeful and premeditated than I initially thought.

It was an extremely soft target that was likely well-publicized beforehand.

And they had to have known the international mix of people attending. That's a huge "frick you" to the implied ramifications of targeting it.

Also, more details of what they did to the children are coming out now. One really can't fault Israel for dropping everything they have on that shithole.

won't be long before the "disenfranchised/hopeless" here choose organized violence.

We already know outside power to Gaza has been cut. Now, the IDF has destroyed the only power plant inside of Gaza. No electricity whatsoever to be had there now.

Did they destroy it? I heard earlier they just ran out off fuel and the blockade was preventing replenishment

And this is why I keep saying that Hamas got too big to be small.

Grabbing a few IDF soldiers is one thing. Slaughtering 1000+ civilians and kidnapping all kinds of international citizens? Congrats, you got the attention you wanted. It’s going to come with a lot of munitions at high velocity.

I'm going to assume destroyed. A large, stationary target with no air defenses is ripe.

I just can’t see the reasoning for the administration to come out so quickly and fairly adamantly that Iran had nothing to do with this.

Yeah there is no tactical advantage from coming out and publicly blaming Iran. Stay quiet until the Israeli F-35s are headed southwest out of Tehran.
