Isn’t it scary how low the requirements are to be a cop

Let me first say that I completely back LEO. However the 2 Gretna PD officers who were just fired for suggesting AOC should be shot got me thinking. (Personally I hate the lady, but if I had a job in the public sector I would be sure to keep those kinds of comments off social media)
There were at least 2 people I went to high school who were both borderline retarded that ended up being cops with 2 years of graduation.
Scary to think these idiots actually have some authority over people

Not many normal folks will deal with the trash of society for 40 grand a year.

Well that's dumb considering the premise of your thread.

I just don't think people should be shot for their political beliefs, it has nothing to do with social media.

Cops are functional retards and many departments have cutoffs on tests for people who score TOO HIGH.
THINK ABOUT THAT.
Don’t Tread on Me > Thin Blue Line
Every down vote I receive shows how many boot lickers infest this website.

The only reason you are alive today is those law enforcement officers out there keeping you safe

Mingo are you on your period?

This is exactly the reason why I would not want to be a cop. To deal with people like you

I know a guy who never even graduated from home school and now carries a gun as a guard at Angola.

Do you have proof of this that is reasonable? Meaning several blue collar jobs aren't going to hire a legit genius to do normal man's work.

Think that’s bad, look what it takes to run for Congress

There is little to no incentive for anyone good to be a cop these days.

Angola will hire anyone with a heartbeat.

There are a lot of idiots in law enforcement, but the training and hiring process generally keeps their idiocy from affecting public operations.
For the most part, larger departments are better staffed than small towns, and state agencies beat both by a mile. Good luck becoming a Louisiana State Trooper without a college degree. However, when it comes to local departments, I would trust a cop working for BRPD or EBRSO or APSO over one working for Gonzales, Part Allen, or even worse, Donaldsonville or White Castle.

There was a big court case about it. A department wouldn't interview anyone over a certain score on their placement exam.

That’s New Orleans, smaller cities like Baton Rouge or Shreveport is more like $33k. Unless you have a masters degree then it’s $35-$36k.
You get what you pay for. Fortunately, we get more than we pay for with 30-40% of law enforcerment.

Cops are zoo keepers and not much else.
Posted on 7/22/19 at 5:57 pm to HarveyBanger
Yeah and that’s why it’s crazy how y’all defend them when they shoot a black person
Posted on 7/22/19 at 5:57 pm to HarveyBanger
I have meet a lot of bone heads and douche bags who were or ended up being cops, it is true.
