People don’t want to be cops. Pay is shite, you deal with assholes all day, no one likes you and you can get shot for no real good reason. They candidacy pool is restricted. Good departments do what they can to recruit decent people, but it’s not always easy. All that being said, I’m applying next year.

I've known some cops in my life (NOPD)..More crazy than normal. One made the news during Katrina. One of them is a neighbor and retired. Can't figure out if he is just a dumbass or just crazy.

I'd bet many of the Representatives local and federal, could not pass the mental, physical, or moral requirements of a COP.
