I have a buddy who unloaded the trucks at Best Buy at 3 am. He quit after a while because he didn’t want to do backbreaking work anymore and became a cop. He was a cop for a few years, quit that and then went back to unloading trucks at Best Buy at the butt crack of dawn. He said he just enjoyed the Best Buy job more, and he made more money there

Yeah, there was a big fricking law suit about it. Some guy with a 125 iq wanted to be a cop. He was rejected because the belief was he would get bored and quit.
As far as public servants go. Cops and school teachers are dukin' it out for the second lowest rung.

If the job paid more it would obviously attract more people who are able to do the job better.
In all of these small cities and towns, they don't have that big of a budget so they pretty much have to take what they can get.. And they are usually people who were dumbasses in HS who got messed with or no one really had any respect for.
Parish/county police departments are an upgrade from the small town/city police departments. For one they have a bigger budget and they have detectives so a policeman can work his way up to different positions.
Police in big cities are better trained and because.. Well.. They have bigger budgets and there are more people so more things happen, etc.
It would be stupid to say I dislike cops. There are a lot of good ones out there, but there are also a lot of dumbasses and people who do it for the wrong reasons and its cops like these dumbasses from Gretna who cause people to hate police.. Or not respect them.
For all the good cops out there looking to do their job the right way and wants to truly serve.. It has to be frustrating to have a general classification with these idiots (as for as the general public sees it).

My small town churns through cops at a pretty decent clip. They come here to get experience than go to a bigger town/city for better pay.

The police should be picked randomly from eligible voters, and serve brief terms, just like jurors.

Well, it looks like the court OKd it and according to ABC News, cops on average have a slightly higher IQ than the national average... For what it's worth.

Yeah gooble says the average is 104. They're not retards. I wonder though how similar the psychological profile of a garden variety cop is to a garden variety thug criminal.
