New York Daily News

A mechanic was arrested and charged with sabotage after he tampered with a commercial plane’s hardware shortly before it was set to take off from Miami International Airport with more than 100 people on board.

Authorities used surveillance video to identify Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani as the saboteur. Officers arrested Alani on Thursday and he confessed to tampering with the plane’s critical hardware but denied he intended to hurt anyone on board.

It came down to him and a guy named Joe Green as suspects

Turns out Joe was innocent.

And reportedly not very mean either.

He was angry about a contract dispute between American and their mechanics. No mention of infidels.

Even if you believe his story (which may be credible, an American mechanic sabotaging a plane for overtime is pretty realistic for that shitty company) - do you think this guy ever thought "maybe the optics of this are going to be pretty bad for me"?

Seems like a pretty convenient cover story.

Nowhere in that article does it say he is Islamic.

I heard it was because American denied his request for a new snackbar.
