Not in ATL, but my friend in Utah says he does. Wonder what the differences are to make that possible

Serious answer:

I always lock doors and windows. Always. Do I have to? Probably not but you never know. My wife's parents never locked a thing - cars, house doors, windows were always unlocked. They always thought I was crazy for making sure everything is locked before going to bed. Well, one day they returned home to find their UNLOCKED window was simply lifted up and they were robbed of all their expensive jewelry. Their house is more secure than Ft. Knox now.

You never know.

Yes, feel very safe in my neighborhood and we usually have several people that are always keeping an eye on the happenings on our street.

Mine is.

I've left the backdoor wide open when running errands, garage door open while sleeping, windows opened and unlocked numerous times in the fall.

If I didn't feel safe I wouldn't live here

Do you start a thread for every random thought that pops in your head?

We have home security system I set every night. I’ve forgot to lock the doors before but set the system out of habit.

We sleep upstairs. If it goes off, I come out shooting. It doesn’t bother me.

Does not compute. You woke up, saw you forgot to lock your doors, left them unlocked, then went back to sleep?

Ours is absolutely safe enough, but I’ve watched enough true crime shows not to chance it.

I don’t even know where the keys to my house are. I also forget to close the garage door a good bit. The only thing ever taken were some beers out of the fridge. Could have been neighbors, as they are always welcome to them, or some hood kids.

With that said, I don’t purposely leave things unlocked at night and we are heavily armed.

Lol. Even the worst neighborhoods are largely safe enough for that. The odds of home invasion are incredibly low.

I live in Arabi. Crime is low, but we are close to the city. I would say "no" to your question.

I would think so, but I'd never do it. I've watched way too many ID shows and my paranoid self would never sleep. I lock the door when I let the dogs out.

Probably. But I will always live under the "Better safe than sorry" philosophy.

In Crystal Beach area of Destin? Sure, but I try not to. The wolfhound will let us know if someone is coming around

Couldn’t do this in a place like New Orleans for example.

Rarely lock my back door, and have left my front door unlocked multiple times. Not every area of the city is like the East.

I woke up and saw they were both unlocked.

I can* sleep easy knowing we don’t need to lock them.

I rarely lock doors at night. Aint nobody coming in here, and if they do want to that little door lock and frame aint stopping em.

My wife on the other hand, she locks em all.

I do make sure my garage is closed, that is an actual problem here. The little burglars go around checking door locks pretty regularly.

I live uptown near the zoo. Sometimes I’ll get drunk and forget to lock the front door or gate leading into the side yard. Home invasions don’t worry me much where I live—haven’t heard of one in years.
