John's Hopkins has reverted back to considering it a mental illness. They no longer support tran surgeries because suicide rates did not decrease in post-op life.

However, like any illness, there are symptoms, and the best we can do currently (unless there's something in the medical world im unaware of) is treat the symptoms individually.
Any condition in my opinion, that drives an individual to take their own life, is classified as a mental illness in my book.

You'll never hear it in the media but a lot of transgenders are miserable post-op because they cut of their penis, and therefore the sexual thrill behind goes away because they destroyed their sex drive with their sex reassignment surgery.
They are miserable because they learned that their desire to be a woman was sexually driven, and without the sex drive to power that desire anymore, they no longer wish to be a woman, and kill themselves since its irreversable

I have sympathy in that I hope they get the correct help needed, and not have their issues identified as trendy lifestyle choices of Hollywood expression. You can see that there is a lot of people in this thread that have been influenced by that degenerate culture.
