I actually saw the first Tesla car using a station the other day.
Granted I live in the middle of nowhere, but every time I see them I think, what a waste of money.

I live in Dallas proper and have literally never seen someone use a station. I’ve seen a billion Teslas, but no one charging it. Must be doing something right.

Tesla gets government funds in the way of grants. The government is paying people to buy luxury cars.

There's one in Light My Fart central MT with like 8 charging stations. it's at a gas station and the couple times I've stopped there, people are staring at it like this:
