Ahhhh, yes the dishwasher. A constant battle in my house. Not between me and the wife, but with the wife and her own brain. She'll wrestle with arranging things so perfectly 3 times before running but then ignore the piles of random clutter she has collecting in six different places within sight of the washer.

I load the dishwasher in the correct fashion the same way every time that maximizes getting our specific dishes in there in a way that gets them clean. It also happens to look organized and is easier.

My wife and the nanny load it completely differently every single time, it looks like a blind raccoon loaded the dishes and it's always new and perplexing.

I don't know when it happens, but I hit like 35 years old and the dad switch came on and now I just can't stand half the things people do in this house

What kind of psychopath loads their bowls in sideways like that?

You and the missus need to do what the Cascade commercial said and "do it every night".

quote:

These people say that they "do it" every night like clockwork, right after dinner... and especially after meatloaf. One young woman says that even though she lives alone, she still "does it" every night -- runs her dishwasher, that is! Cascade says that with its Platinum pods and an Energy Star certified dishwasher, you'll use less than four gallons of water per cycle, while hand washing dishes uses that much every two minutes.

I have no idea how “dishwasher loading technique” is such a contentious topic in marriages.

Do the dishes come out clean?

Yes?
It was loaded correctly.

No?
You did it wrong.

It’s about as black and white as can be.

I approve. Excellent job. The top tray looks exactly as if I loaded.
The bottom will be full after breakfast.

I’ll have to think about it. Don’t wash your dishes until you hear back from me.

You have plenty of room to fill on the bottom, weak.

When you hit 60, you'll give 0 effs as long as you don't have to do it.

You have a Yeti cup in there- you're not poor enough to worry about the $0.17 cents it costs to run with a few empty spaces

The flaw in your logic is that we all know no one has ever bought a Yeti product; all of them are acquired through giveaways. As a result, the possession/ownership of Yeti products has no direct correlation with being a poor or an unpoor.

Move some down, then put the grates and drip pan from the smoker in there. She will forget the abysmal job of loading when she sees that.

they're safe to put in the dishwasher but dangerous to take them out, the temp in the dishwasher gets so hot the yeti will burn you if you don't leave it in there for about a month to cool down

We run ours every night, if it has 1 coffee cup or is completely full. But its a KitchenAid that is extremely quiet but takes forever to finish a load. One of us loads the dishwasher while the other makes coffee and feeds the dogs.

Who wants dirty dishes just laying around, thats just nasty. Do yall leave poop in the toilet because a turd and some paper doesn't fill it up completely?

just making a joke about how efficient Yetis are about retaining desired temperature, but I do think putting them in an automatic dishwasher decreases their life, especially the gasket and the top
