It’s about fricking time. When I was working in the restaurant industry, there was a certain demographic that routinely sat in their cars, windows up getting smoked out before entering the premises. If your funk is still hanging in the air at the front door 5 minutes after you’ve been sat, you need to be tossed out.

Many larger cities absolutely reek of marijuana smoke at night.
I don’t have any issue with the legalization of weed but that smell is awful.

Both are bad. Weed funk smell is worse though

A strong odor of weed is just super trashy

This new stuff smells like someone has been smoking a skunk's butthole.

I find it not to be a pleasant smell either. When I was going to concerts in the ‘70s and ‘80’s it was always being smoked during shows. Seems like it had a much more pleasant smell. Almost sweet.
Yeah, it did.

Am I remembering wrong?
Nope, you're right. Today's weed smells different and more pungent than the smell I grew up with.

It can, it depends on the tobacco.

Would be awesome. Would also be great if they started issuing duis to drivers that you can smell on the highway

Skunk weed yes, but not all marijuana smells the same.
One time in Las Vegas, we checked in and went to our room and the whole room smelled like skunk weed. It was awful. We went tell them there was no way we could stay in that room. Someone went to check it out and confirmed it was bad and they started looking to see who was on schedule to clean the room, but there had to be multiple people in there who was smoking every time they went to the room.
With that said, I wouldn't say cigarette smoke was more pleasant, its just a different shitty smell.

Canal Street in NOLA will give you a secondary high at night. Absurd.

I was merging onto the interstate yesterday and this a-hole blasting his shitty bass system wouldn't let me over. I merge behind him and then get blasted with this HUGE whiff of weed.
How much freaking pot are you smoking that you're literally leaving an odor on the interstate?
Got over and passed him...let's just say if this scenario prompts any assumptions as to the identity of the driver you're probably not wrong.

Good. frick those pot heads.
I was checking into a hotel months ago and the hotel manager was arguing with two stoners over giving them a room. They smelled of weed so bad. Apparently he either refused their reservation or would not give them a room because they were high as frick. I just heard him tell them, “Not here. I’m not having it.” They were pissed and were cussing and he told them he was gonna call the cops if they didn’t leave.
I gave him a thumbs up.

Planet Fitness. Could be the $10/month membership. I ponied up for a better gym and believe me you don’t want pics of those skanks.

The weed of today smells far worse than the weed of the 70s, but in the 70s a lot of folks smoked cigarettes too and that mixed in with the weed smoke (and often hid it). Folks were just more accustomed to smelling smoke in those days. Since cigs and smoking indoors has become verboten, we are used to cleaner smelling air.
So now you add stinkweed to what was a cleaner smelling environment and it smells to high heaven. I'm not sure why places can't ban smoking in public to keep most of it at your home or car. That would cut down on the stinkweed smell to an extent. If you want to be out in public, vape or do edibles.
The only place I've been in where it was legal was NM, mainly around Albuquerque. I smelled it a few times, but did not find it bothersome.
But then, I went to concerts in the 70s. When the lights when down, everybody fired up.
