I've almost started a thread about this many times.
I can't tell you how often I'm commuting home from work and people on the train are having a full conversation with their phone on speakerphone, or someone is listening to music with the speakers rather than putting in headphones.
Drives me insane.

Could have saved a few seconds on your question and left it at that!
I have hung up on people who put me on speaker phone unless they ask me AND there is a legitimate reason.
But to answer your original question, not much more annoying, however the ones who walk around STILL using the ear pieces are pretty close. With the speaker phone people, I like to get real close and then carry on my own conversation, loudly. It's more fun when they try to get away from you and you keep following them around.

Try this shite on public transit in the DC area. You'll get thrown off with the quickness. There's zero tolerance for loud conversions (or really any cell phone conversations) on the bus.

Love seeing this in the airport. Then the user looking around like everyone there is disturbing his personal conversation.
... with Charlie Brown's teacher. Thats pretty much what everyone sounds like on a smartphone speaker cranked all the way up

I wish I could say the same for here. Although there's no one in the train cars to hear them doing it, whereas on one of the DC buses the driver would be in earshot.

Was in a Mexican restaurant packed to the gills a few years ago and homie is on one of those Sprint phones in walker talkie mode sitting at the table next to us jabbering with volume wide open. I asked the waitress to tell the guy to put his phone up and she obliged. Homie was outraged that no one was interested in hearing his perspective on da Bulls game.

They want you to know that they and their conversation are very important.

Why the hell would you put it on speaker in a public setting and sit around screaming into the screen on your iPhome.
Never did I think that I would wish for the Bluetooth earpiece be in vogue again. That at least cuts down on half the conversation.
Also when people face time each other but hold the phone down at their waist and just talk on speaker. What the fack!?

Clients come in talking on their phones and when I would try to talk to them I couldn't tell if they were answering me or talking to the people on their phones.
I finally, after the first few times, put up a sign that said no cell phones in office. And trained the staff to ask them to step outside if they need to talk on their phones.
