He’s got a much stronger judge this time than Ito’s weak sorry arse.
He should burn in hell along with everyone that supported his innocence. Guilty

He lost the $100mm civil case. I wouldn’t say he necessarily won, but yeah he avoided prison, until he didn’t

Probably even most of the jurors believed O.J. did it, but thought he should go free as an eye for eye against racism in general and specifically the acquittal of the LA policemen accused of the Rodney King beating.
It was awesome in very bad way to see that mentality operate in the legal system and think what it might mean for the future of cities full of voters who shared that thought process..
And here we are today.

The black community thinks he was innocenet - or at least, deserving to be left off to get a win.
OJ getting acquitted was their retribution for Rodney King

Those shoes were incredibly rare. 299 total pairs sold in the US at the time and I think 9% were size 12 in that size (they were sure of the size by my recollection).
Out of curiosity as I can’t remember anymore but how were they able to identify such a rare show by a single foot print in the 90s? Especially with how shoddy the rest of their evidence collection sad

Absolutely true. I remember that vividly.

The working theory is this. OJ’s son Jason was fired in the run up to the murders for attempting to stab a coworker. Fast forward to his new gig, Nicole was supposed to dine in his new restaurant the night of the murders. She instead changed plans the night of and dined elsewhere. Jason is a fit of rage was angry she didn’t show and went to her house to confront her. At some point he killed her and Ron walked in on it. In a panic he called his dad who witnesses claim to have seen driving at a high rate of speed towards the scene. From there it’s believed he collected incriminating evidence from his son and disposed of it… also consider the knit cap. There are thousands of photos of the juice but not one shows him wearing knit caps. There are plenty of photos of Jason wearing knit caps.
Can you imagine if this is actually true? Would completely change my opinion of him, to basically sacrifice his life for his son. Even though that was wrong too, but understandable.

No one thought OJ was innocent. They acquitted him because they were afraid of LA Riots part ll.

The irony of the situation is that up until then he was perceived as an Uncle Tom by the black community.
The two black guys that white America most embraced were OJ and Cosby.

I was in highschool during the Trial. My Biology teacher(black woman) rolled a TV into the classroom and made us watch the stupid Trial....... in biology class......WTF. I remember when they read the verdict, how happy she was. Yep everybody always said he did it. He got away with murder for sure.
Teacher only cared because she wanted the black man to win over those evil white cops. LOL what a farce.

The tread pattern on the bottom of the shoe was singularly unique to those specific shoes.

I recollected that the crime scene security was the shoddy part of that, not so much the evidence collected but how they approached the crime scene. I believe that case may have partially pushed forth the idea of having trained units to deal with crime scene evidence collection and methods for responding officers to secure a crime scene until those units arrived.

The series ESPN did on the trial was actually really good and really showed how stupid the prosecution handled everything and really went into detail of how race played a role in the trial. And it’s actually pretty unbiased and full of interviews from the people involved in the trial.
It really is a good watch and it clearly insinuates that everyone knows he did it.

I met/talked to the head forensics guy on the case, he is kind of semi-famous I guess?
There was a blood sample that the forensics team missed that would have changed the outcome of the trial. I think it was on the jacket or something, its been a while. He was sure OJ did it.

This was my exact experience. In my office at the time we heard the verdict was going to be announced so we (blacks and whites) gather around the receptionist’s desk where she had a radio. There was an extreme dichotomy of reactions with blacks being giddy at the verdict and whites in disbelief. We all looked at each other realizing there were some extreme differences in opinion and just shut up and went back to our offices. Very vivid memory of mine.

I don’t think that a perfectly clear video of him committing the murders would have changed the outcome of that trial.
Like a previous poster, I too taught in a racially mixed high school during the trial. The black kids didn’t care if he was guilty, only cared if he could pull one over on “the man”.

Blood droplet was on the back gate. By the time they went to collect it the back gate area had been washed down and cleaned. Too late.

This is laughable. All of OJ's friends said he was the most self centered narcissist around. He would never do something like that.
