I miss the A style lights that are actually bright to light up a room. Can you still buy them out of the country? This going green is crap!

You're buying the wrong bulbs.

Same here. Don't know whether they are warm or cool, but they actually put off a better light that the old incandescent ones. Also, don't make stuff nearly as hot... but maybe that's just in my head. I swapped out all my pot lights in the kitchen and it seems cooler.

stay away from bulb shopping dude.

LEDs are in all shades of the spectrum now from warm yellow to cool white.

here's a thought..buy a bulb and if you don't like the color, return it to home depot & try a different one.

eta also educate yourself on the term "CRI"

Edison's bulb is effectively contraband now, particularly at the 100w flavor. Gone the way of the dodo bird, sacrificed on the alter of the Green Religion.

to be fair, the edison bulb was screwed after the collusion that took place in the 1930s to prevent longer life happened.

Yes they do. Even 300W bulbs. Just have to look for those that sell the "rough use" bulbs that are exempted.

I bought Ferrowatt Ironman Rough Service Lamps 100 watt incandescent bulbs from AAMSCO Lighting, Inc in South Carolina. I use them in my well pump house to prevent freezing. These last a long long time. Ordered from aamsco dot com.

My friend Bod Sacamano bought a condo in Orange Beach with the money he made bootlegging pre-ban 100 W incandescents.

It's probably mostly in your head, but if you have a lot of lights it can make a difference. How many bulbs do you have in there? If you're talking about 10+ bulbs, yeah you might feel a little difference.

Check your light fixture to make sure it's rated for the wattage bulbs you're buying (should be stamped on the fixture somewhere). And if it's enclosed, make sure the bulbs themselves are made for enclosed fixtures. Either of these things can cause fires if you're not careful. Probably not an issue but it's worth checking.
