re: Is the Jaguar F Pace an OT-10 SUV?

My wife was coming from a 5 series, so the Audi handling better than Volvo wasn't something she was putting high on her list. If it was mine, handling and usable power would be top items.

Saw one of those drive by while I was pumping gas the other day. Sounded pretty good.

It’s a Jeep Latitude with 20 in rims and fewer airbag recalls.

I’ve seen a couple. The exhaust note is great, they also are supposedly the only luxury Mid-size suv to still offer hydraulic steering. Doug Demuro was raving about its driving dynamics. The thing I can’t get around is the price and interior. Like all Maserati’s it borrows from the FCA parts bin. While some of those parts are good in something like a Grand Cherokee, I would expect more in an $80,000+ SUV.

It's a jag, so it's going to be nice for a year or two then a maintenance disaster after.

More like 10/100.

Would buy a cayenne turbo before that.
Well, the price difference is pretty huge between those two. The F-Pace isn't all that expensive.

Lady I work with drives one. I saw it a couple of times before I realized it's a Jaguar because I had never seen them use the front emblem like that before. I know the change wasn't brand new, but I guess I never pay attention when I see this British-piece-of-shite around town.
We have a number of people who have Tesla's so the facility put in a few charging stations, but this lady will park at one pissing everyone off (because of the extra room). I love having both sides pissed off just for the entertainment purposes.

Jags are shite. They have the highest claims along with Nissan. Fact.

No, but the Bentley Bentayga might be

Any OT baller gonna rock that Lambo SUV?

point was Jaguars are traditionally poorly built and cost a lot of money to run
You hear the same thing about nearly all "luxury" vehicles. I hear horror stories of maintenance on BMW, Volvo, Range Rover, etc.. I'm merely pointing out that in the class of vehicles this competes with, it's not stupid expensive (like the Porsche)

Lambo Urus. For $200k, Just what is a Urus? An extinct ox.

I think my wife's new Volvo is sexier than the F Pace. I don't like the race inspired SUVs, classy/sexy is better for the chick drivers anyway.

A) There's no such thing as an OT 10 anything. ANYTHING.
B) That's certainly not in the running.
C)

It's not the maintenance everyone is worried about when it comes to a Jag, it's the general reliability. Much more likely to leave you stranded within the first year or so due to some stupid electrical or mechanical glitch.

My wife has had a Mercedes for 7 years. She generally takes really shitty care of it, only changes the oil whenever.
Never had an issue fortunately.
But I do know of high end car horror stories, just not as frequent as when I was younger (the 90s)

While you hear this about all brands and luxury brands in particular about maintenance Jaguar and Land Rover have for a long time been much less reliable than most other brands as in bottom of the barrel. Since being bought by Tata both are actually doing better BUT so are the other brands and there is still a significant divide in reliability.
