Jaguar's styling and design has been lame across the board for decades. (and yes, I've owned Jaguars) Their sedan's are embarrassing, sports cars not much better. For styling, I'd even take Mazda's budget $19k entry level cx-3 over that Jaguar suv any day of the week. Even the interior design is better.

Our Sequoia has ride leveling air suspension. I think it's a gimmick. The sensors are starting to go out, I'm worried the air compressor is working overtime and going out.... and I'd have been happy with shocks instead of air bladders at this point.

Mercedes is probably the most reliable out of the luxury brands outside of a string of problems throughout most of their models in the 2000s. Contrary to popular belief Mercedes cares more about the reliability and engineering quality of their brand than just the logo on the hood, unlike most other luxury brands.

Mercedes is a Founder company so everybody else pretty much follows their lead. Most of the features, designs and engineering we have in cars today came from Mercedes. Their history is storied so they take a lot of pride in the brand.

On the flip side of that, I also own the biggest piece of shite, faux high-end luxury brand, Land Rover. What I'm about to say I don't say lightly. Land Rover is worse than Chrysler.

The only reason I own one at all is because it was the last year of the Disco 2 so it was the last vehicle made that had a solid front axle and a towing capacity over 5000 pounds. It also has a center locking differential and a ton of aftermarket support so I was able to put a ladder rack on it and a full-length roof rack, which is nice for hauling shite without having to hook up my utility trailer. I can seat 7 passengers as well. It checks all the boxes but that thing is a total piece of shite otherwise.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this. I literally spend more time working on it than I do driving it.

Absolutely is. Im not blaming anyone. I just wish they took more care in development because the plan was top notch but the execution is typical British shitacular. I nurse it because there isnt anything like it. Its like a Rubicon on steroids and fits its role perfectly. Just have to be willing to deal with the bullshite.

No way I would buy anything new from Land Rover. They lost their way(they do still make the Defender though). They used to be a manufacturer dedicated to utility and now theyre a rappers delight. They and Jeep literally put the "Utility" in Sport Utility Vehicle. There are no more auto manufacturers dedicated to rough-and-tumble, no-frills, work and hard-play vehicles. Land Rover was the last and the Disco II was the last of that breed. We're basically relegated to propping up old models for the foreseeable future.

ETA: Considering the Cayenne and the Q7 are built on the same platform, that's not exactly surprising they look similar.

Just picked up a 2018 Audi sq5 and I fricking love it. Anyone considering an f-pace should absolutely cross shop Audi.
