Yea not familiar with the area so wasn't sure about any of that.

They are 100% for starter homes, come on. Hell they're both only about 25 years old. We've been married 10 years and are on our 3rd home and in a really good situation. Our first home was not as nice as either of those two and we had to remodel. Those are legit move in ready.

I mean that's kind of what your starter home is though right? It's not your forever home.

I was just doing t as a fun exercise. Because I knew 100% you could get a decent starter home in NW LA for under 250K with a decent commute, not in the ghetto. Honestly had no idea about BR but it looks like it's certainly possible in BR too.

So Mingo called me a moron and now I'm out of touch. Which points, specifically, am I wrong about?

Your logic here is weird

What is weird about it? Mingo gave qualifiers that I thought was interesting so i looked it up to see if it was possible. I wasn't trying to prove anything I was just going off the standards he set.

I admitted I am not very familiar with the neighborhoods so I wasn't able to take that into account. But if you don't consider those first two houses acceptable starter homes I don't know what to say.

I pointed out that the inflation occurred under Biden.

Most Trump voters are happy with how things are going. Nobody realistically expects grocery prices to come down much. That damage is done.

Why do they "need" that? Since this thread is railing on the Boomers, I can assure you that most of them started off in homes smaller than that.

I haven’t read through the thread yet, but have we made sure to blame yearly iPhone purchases yet?

I dont know how anyone could logically argue otherwise, especially given the last 10 years of data.

Im not especially price sensitive at this stage in my life, and I rarely grocery shop, but prices are crazy. Jim Beam is still cheap AF, but it tastes like it.

Car, health, home, GL; all insurances that I pay have essentially doubled in the last 10 years.

Last 4.

Biden killed us.

Inflation already sucked since 2008. But when half of that comes in Bidens 4 years, you will feel it. It wasn't spread out evenly over that time.

Good grief, at least be realistic.

People need to put down their poli glasses and make unbiased, honest assessments.
Was Harris a better option? Really?

Anyone that can't see that at least Trump is attempting to make government a little more fiscally responsible is beyond hope.

And honestly, both parties have let this shite go on for far too long.

Absolutely

We also had someone say that if we stopped drinking coffee for 5 years we could put a down payment on a home

Thread is BOOMing, if you get my drift.

Bills passed under Biden

The only thing Trump has ever passed is tax cuts for the rich.

Not sure which is more absurd: putting a tariff on a second hand object manufactured in the 1980s or the idea that this isn't horrible for many small business owners and their employees.

Tariff isn't on the used item.

It's on you importing it.

Keep it under $800 or stop selling Japanese vinyl. Or buy used Japanese vinyl already in the us.

Every time you buy a record overseas, you are hurting American record sellers like yourself. If I bought all my records from overseas, I would have no use for you or your shop in Brooklyn.

Not sure why I'm arguing with the type that just spews opinions out of complete ignorance but:

If you bought a German-only 1969 Jimi Hendrix LP with different mix/cover you wanted directly from a European record shop: you would pay $80 ($50 for the LP + $30 shipping) At my shop, you could get it for $60 and see it, hear it and be sure it's in good shape and, actually most importantly, enjoy an actual real record shop.

Not that you would buy it from anywhere anyway or you would have not been so ignorant about the details.

Also, the $800 limit is now no longer in effect. That's the problem in my post.

Also, importing them doesn't hurt anyone. One brings these records to the US because they are extremely hard to find, non-existent here.
It's not like there are manufacturing plants in the US that are going to start pressing them. It helps the Americans who want them and adds some pleasure to their lives. It helps the people who work in my store. It even helps the European/Japanese shop that can't sell it easily because it's not so in demand there and no American wants to pay $30 extra to ship it by itself.

I know your thing is to just scour these threads to mindlessly post anything you think champions Trump but you may need to stick to shite you know about.

Both sides of this stupid argument are wrong.

The ones who don’t want to admit that, yes, the average house is less affordable than 40 years ago. And the ones who won’t acknowledge the inflated consumerist lifestyles that people live today.

One of Biden's first acts as president was to try to get the coronavirus pandemic under control by passing the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan.

Yep, you're right.

That right there likely contributed more to this rampant inflation than any single thing in American history.

So, congrats, I guess.

If you were actually broke you’d wouldn’t be using any fancy shampoo bottle to wash your hair. Real ones just use the bar.
