That sounds like a commercial for Disney World, not so much a commercial for McDonald's.

Yeah but the anti kid regulations are so tight you have certain flavors nixed at the idealation phase for vapes and pouches because they are worried the government will eventually dictate they are pandering to kids.

HFCS
Frying food in industrial lubricants
Multiple additives that are long term toxic
Improper food pyramid.

I believe in freedom to choose what you eat, but should be informed on what this food does to you

Hey Karen, worry about you and your family. We’ll extend you the same courtesy.

No one forces anyone to buy anything. Except government. And even with that, you can refuse. Go be a busybody with your own children and quit worrying about everyone else’s.

Who cares. We have freedom in this country, at least for now. We don’t need our benevolent government telling tax paying Americans what to do or how to live our lives.

Yep. And we don’t need the government telling us to keep red dyes out either. Just slap a label on the Fruity Pebbles box.

There's no safe way to smoke but people are perfectly capable of making their own health decisions. Same goes for what they eat.

You should be able buy crack at the crack store, heroin at the heroin store, so and and so forth.

It’s worse, nicotine causes increased testosterone while food fried in sneed oil decreases testosterone

A big part of it, yes. FF is INTENTIONALY manufactured to be addicting. All the additives, sugars, refined starches and flours...

While FFs have lots of calories, they do not have the vital nutrients that our bodies need to live a healthy life so it signals our brains that we need more of the garbage.
That's why people crave more FF thus fattening up the bottom lines of the FF industry and the obesity pandemic gets worse and worse.

TBH, lots of folks don't really have even a basic understanding of healthy eating.
Lots of people drink 'apple juice' thinking they are getting nutritional benefits when they are just drinking sugar water with apple flavoring.

We can go down the list, diet soda, whole grain cereal and breads, lite beer, reduced fat, low carb...even downright deceptive labeling.

Like him or hate him, RFK Jr is about the start banning lots of garbage in the MAD(Modern American Diet). Food dyes are only the beginning.

Seed oils, ie soybean, canola, corn, sunflower... is at the top of the list.

HFC is probably next. Several other additives are on the list,

Big Ag is gonna start squealing really loud when all this starts to come down.
The sewer rats in power are going to pitch a fit when this starts.

It's going to take years for all this to happen. The resistance is going to be brutal.

Lots of this junk in the MAD is already banned in Europe.

Best thing I can say is take control and start educating yourself of all the junk in the Modern American Diet.

Things are sold because there is a demand for it. If it wasn't sold, there would be a black market where it could be found especially when it comes to something life food. There would be more than enough people willing to cook up some cheap unhealthy shite and sell it at a price people are willing to pay for it at.

Well there are elements to your statement that are fact based,, adjacent
But if these huge chemical companies that are producing food products with fake coloring, fake binders, fake sweeteners would you expect a small private bakery to have access to all those chemicals that make unhealthy food unhealthier
A hamburger itself is not unhealthy

ground meat. Put some vegetables on it, and if it was made using fresh bread that didn't have preservatives or chemicals that turned it into glue That would be a fairly decent meal, not unhealthy

So I can hardly imagine a black market developing for Cheetos and someone having their wherewithal to produce red and orange food and fake spices

Most food companies are guilty of selling edible poison now. Imo.

Define ""unhealthy."

Food is a necessity, so we are discussing which ones are most healthy and which are enjoyable, but maybe not perfect.

Meanwhile, cigarettes are completely harmful without any true benefit.

So there is a bit of a distinction for those inclined to see one.

I will just make my own choices and leave others to theirs while commenting that I just enjoyed a very good Sazerac with a good steak tonight.

Have I violated some moral code?

Has the restaurant committed some terrible sin by serving me what I ordered?

Is the same true of stores which sell chips and soda?

I think I would like a second drink to assist my contemplating this burning issue.

(I do hope thar neither Tulane-LSU nor Mother are overly disappointed with me at this point...)

A study showed 80% of Americans eat fast food once a month . The obesity rate is ~35% and its probably safe to say the majority of that 35% are in that first number. If 80% of the people in America picked up a crackpipe once a month, a LOT more than 35% of them would be crack addicts.

The obesity rate is out of control. It is horrible, but it doesn't compare to a crack or opioid addiction.

On the flip side if fatties became crack addicts, they wouldn't be fat for long.

You’re overthinking it here OP.

A body needs food (even if not optimally healthy) to survive. A body does not need cigarettes.
