Not to mention even the electric parade abandoned Florida for California...

I'm so glad Walt chose central Florida over New Orleans East for Disney World. Can you imagine a post-Katrina Disney out there like Jazzland?

Disney Management >>>> New Orleans City Council and Mayor.

We know how to have something nice and clean. Orlando is the gem of Florida.

Yeah, I'd much rather escape the obnoxious, crowded streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras to the peace and tranquility of Disney World.

It's 2019. And like LSUPimp there's a whole list of things I'd rather do than fly to NOLA to see a parade.

No one is making you fly to NOLA to see a parade.

Though not as grandiose as gambling at the Monte Carlo casino or catching the HiV in Thailand, MegaCon in Orlando this year is going to be huge.

Same type of atmosphere as mardi gras with people in costumes but actually a lot more fun to attend and it is here in Orlando. Pam Anderson, Topanga and Peter Weller are going to be there plus Corey Feldman. It isn't all A-list like San Diego but still probably a fun weekend.

If a Comic-Con is better than a whole "cultural tradition" you know you're in trouble. If Mardi Gras wasn't subsidized by New Orleans, it would cease to exist within 10 years. No parking, no bathrooms, nothing special to look at, third rate Chinese plastic crap thrown, lame third world floats used over and over again, there's no payoff. Except for five year olds who get excited by catching beads.

It's like Halloween. Kids spend hours going house to house for crappy orange and black wrapped peanut candy and candy corn when they could spend $10 and get quality candy from a candy shoppe with less hassle and legwork.

That's my take on Mardis Gras parades: a waste of time and effort. And for the cats like TH03 sorry if your club has to go, you can always join the Elks or Freemasons, better networking and more respected.

This is pretty fricking cringe, man.

I take you as a Cleveland kind of guy.

By the way, I never go to Endymnion. I'm an uptown baw. And if Orlando is the gem of Florida, I'd hate to see the bad parts.

There definitely seems to be a contingent here whose lives year round revolves around their Mardi Gras club who are butthurt at the mere mention that it's only fun for little kids.

And there definitely seems to be a contingent here whose whole live year round resolves coming onto the message board for a Louisiana university, and do nothing but trash and mock Louisiana and more specifically, it's largest metro area.

It's weird AF. I don't go on message boards for the University of Georgia and talk crap about Georgia and Atlanta, etc.

They don't even throw stuff at the Disney parade. Fail.

LOL. I'll give the Disney company their due for their parks, but Orlando the city is a craphole full of sex trafficking and nastiness. Why do you think Ole Walt got the land around there so cheap?

Thoth Sunday is great. I've watched it on Magazine St. for years. You're right never seen boobs. Getting out early on a nice day, having a couple of beers, and hanging with friends who have been meeting at the same spot forever( some who I only see this day) is great. I've been to all the big night Krewes at least once, but Thoth Sunday is the best day of Mardi Gras. Have a safe ride, and look for me a block past Henry's, sidewalk side.

It's right there in the name.

ORange LAND

And then they added a vowel to the end because most of the big cities in Florida have a vowel at the end (Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Daytona, etc)

My friend who has a place down there went on and on about how I needed to see Endymion and Orpheus. I did and was unimpressed. If that's the best Mardi Gras has to offer, you know it is a sorry state.

Don't take this the wrong way, but what was the size of the biggest cock you ever sucked? No, but seriously, I hope you're trolling because if not you sound like one miserable bastard.

Uptown parades are fun when you have a good spot on the route and you know what you are doing

I think the biggest problem isn't that it is overrated it is just if you are from here you have already done it so many times. That is what it is for me. I would just rather do something else. See another event or place.
