But I'm all for you having fun like a proper brotard. I hope all of you party like Boy Band members at a gay bath house.
This is some shite a dork would say.

If you didn't enjoy that as a kid, you were a dork
It just paled in comparison to the much cooler shite I and the other non-parade-dorks liked to do. Like get laid, go to concerts, play sports, etc. But again, whatever you enjoy...

That doesn't make you any less clueless on having a good time.
Just came back from three weeks in Thailand. Imma use that remaining 2019 entertainment dollar to travel to Monte Carlo, Italy and France instead. Because I hate fun. Totally clueless about fun.

Trying too hard to overcompensate for being a dork.

The only thing I like about Mardi Gras are the days off from work. Walking around in a crowd with a bunch of drunken strangers isn't something that apeals to me.
I plan on staying home and doing some spring cleaning.

Nah bruh. I just gave my opinion that I personally don't enjoy Mardi Gras and the melts and personal insults followed. And now I'm trolling for effect because you Mardi Gras Church people are so defensive and whiny. Who would have guessed that Mardi Gras nerds fall for shiny things?
Still my boy though, Blue.

It's all a matter of individual taste...
I'll tell you though, there is nothing like rolling into the Dome with 15,000 of your best friends screaming at you (and the vast majority of them female)...

Is Mardi Gras overrated?
I went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans every year from my senior year in high school to senior year in college. Maybe because I saw the biggest and best parades nothing really compared anymore. I don't have the interest now. I just see it as crappy parking and being around lots of people, both of which I detest.

There definitely seems to be a contingent here whose lives year round revolves around their Mardi Gras club who are butthurt at the mere mention that it's only fun for little kids.
It's 2019. And like LSUPimp there's a whole list of things I'd rather do than fly to NOLA to see a parade.
Though not as grandiose as gambling at the Monte Carlo casino or catching the HiV in Thailand, MegaCon in Orlando this year is going to be huge.
Same type of atmosphere as mardi gras with people in costumes but actually a lot more fun to attend and it is here in Orlando. Pam Anderson, Topanga and Peter Weller are going to be there plus Corey Feldman. It isn't all A-list like San Diego but still probably a fun weekend.
If a Comic-Con is better than a whole "cultural tradition" you know you're in trouble. If Mardi Gras wasn't subsidized by New Orleans, it would cease to exist within 10 years. No parking, no bathrooms, nothing special to look at, third rate Chinese plastic crap thrown, lame third world floats used over and over again, there's no payoff. Except for five year olds who get excited by catching beads.
It's like Halloween. Kids spend hours going house to house for crappy orange and black wrapped peanut candy and candy corn when they could spend $10 and get quality candy from a candy shoppe with less hassle and legwork.
That's my take on Mardis Gras parades: a waste of time and effort. And for the cats like TH03 sorry if your club has to go, you can always join the Elks or Freemasons, better networking and more respected.

I think you mean "Krewe," and I am not in one.
Nobody is asking you to fly to New Orleans to see a parade. I would prefer you didn't. You'd just stink up the place with your attitude. And you'd be like many of the other jackasses watching an ancient tradition of bacchanalia and thinking they would rather be at Disney. Stay home. NOLA doesn't need you or want you.

Just like this morning. innocent woman bystander shot and killed by a stray bullet on Bourbon street. Not worth my life to be down there in this time of year, although I guess that can happen anytime and at anyplace.
You do know there are more streets than Bourbon right? I was out on Napoleon with my friends and their kids. We had a blast.

Naw. My kid loves it, so it’s worth the small frustrations associated with it.

Disney Electric parade > Endymion. Fact.
I'm so glad Walt chose central Florida over New Orleans East for Disney World. Can you imagine a post-Katrina Disney out there like Jazzland?
Disney Management >>>> New Orleans City Council and Mayor.
We know how to have something nice and clean. Orlando is the gem of Florida.

No dude. You were in Metairie. NOLA is bourbon street. Real people don’t even live in the city proper.

It's the only place I have ever had to pay to piss
That being said, I haven't been in 4/5 years but it was always fun to go with friends.
Bourbon street is for sure not for the faint of heart, it is not everyone's cup of tea.
I think everyone should experience it at least once in their lives.
Overrated? 110% a matter of opinion.
