Wait till Mitch gets his hands on the Trillion $ for "infrastructure"....
It'll make LaDOTD look like a well oiled machine...

So occasionally concrete does not dry in time. You will blame DOTD? Worked in concrete for about 5 years. Are you going to call the private contractors or the concrete manufacture who delivered the faulty concrete incompetent?
Or how about they just let the drivers drive through soft concrete because you are a whiny bitch who can't handle obstacles.

the work I saw them all standing around and staring at was at Airline.
So what would you like them to do. The concrete has been poured and is not dry yet. Tell me in your expert experience with construction what you would do then? Dance, put more concrete down, run back and forth?
Another whiny beatch who has never worked construction. Sometime shite happens that you can't control.

That is not DOTD employees. Those are contractors
Scary how few understand this. The public espoused for years that private contractors are more efficient than DOTD crews. Well, those are private contractors.

No that’s the Council on Aging
I disagree. The Council on Aging is extremely competent at money laundering and voter fraud.

concrete doesnt dry it cures.
assuming they used a high-ear;y mix l;ike they were supposed to, they either got a bad mix or they poured too late

I’m sure it’s not. There’s plenty of other bad ones.

Wait a minute. Do we want this or not? I can't keep up. In my mind, this project needs to be done. But I advocated for Holden's loop and Richard Bakers "new" bridge and all of us supporters were shot down by NIMBYS and pansies who couldn't see how it would be beneficial down the road. College drive exit looks like it's going pretty good and there have been no troubles.

Entergy has to be in the conversation.

So you’re saying it was a good idea to (for the second time) to pour concrete on a busy stretch, on a usually busy morning, with 100% humidity, knowing the last time you did the same thing it didn’t cure in time? Like I said, incompetent

Be a tough battle for most incompetent. But they are bad along with most LA gov offices.

Who hires the contractors after the bidding process is done and oversees the projects??

Hwy 90 the other day outside of Raceland went down to one lane for construction. Perfect timing. In the middle of a weekday. I only sat in traffic for an hour to move like 5 miles. Solid decision making.

Humidity helps the strengthening/curing of concrete mixtures. Might want to try a different argument. Tough to call people incompetent when not knowing the mechanics of the process.
High early strength is substantially more expensive, only used for patches and emergency applications.

theres a supposed concrete contractor up earlier in the thread saying it didnt "dry" on time. water helps concrete cure, it is vital to the process.

I'll see your LA DOTD and raise you NC DOTD...or SC. Incompetence abounds.

idk what the hell they are doing
obviously
"LADOTD" is not out there doing the construction. Bitch at the contractor, the actual organization responsible for maintaining traffic and building the road.

Dries? You mean while it cures? If you're going to needlessly bitch like you know what you're talking about, at least use the proper terminology.
What could most of them be doing? Seriously? There were around a dozen guys there just hanging out meanwhile there's a backlog of projects. Exactly how many does it take to determine if the concrete has cured properly and is ready for traffic?
