I'm married and we both own homes. It's awesome.

Actually the answer is Yes. And it has to be.
Otherwise you are lying to yourself(yourselves).

Bout to live with my SO for the first time. She moves in a month before the wedding. Not ideal but it's a matter of circumstance/ finances . Seems just stupid to pay for two places or for me to live with my parents ( and she in the house we bought).
Basterds are however trashy.

So why are some things trashy now that used to be, but not others?

Actually I think pectus is safe on this one.

No, it makes sense moneywise.
Isn't the idea of giving up on principles because it's cheaper the definition of trashy?

Maybe you just don't know how to date?

Biggest lie/excuse ever told for shacking up. I couldn't know more about how crazy my fiancé is now, but then again I've been with her for 5+ years. So I guess in my case living with her isn't necessary since I've spent a ton of time with her.
Btw it's the Christian thing to do, although I know majority of you (no judgment) could care a less about that.

I can't imagine marrying someone without knowing what it's like to live with her.
Couples who lived together before marrying havrpe traditionally had a higher divorce rate. While that's no longer the case, they're still just as likely to end up divorcing. There's no advantage to it.

Maybe that's because couples who live together before marriage are less likely to see divorce as a sin.

Guess I'm trashy.
Love when I get to be trashy in these threads.

No. Crocs, cargo shorts, being poor, etc. is trashy. Living with the person you intend to spend your life with is financial smart in more ways than one.

Well, you're wrong.
All these posters on the OT care what being trashy is and what it means and how to avoid it...yet they are trashy...
Living with your SO before marriage is trashy. You can really only make the cost efficiency argument if you are engaged and getting married soon.
You can't if you're not even engaged.
Living with your SO before marriage IS trashy!

Whose principles would that be?
