Is it time to reform the handicapped parking situation?

It is time to have a brutally honest conversation about people abusing the handicapped parking benifit.. I’ve noticed that more often than not folks that are parked in handicapped parking spots seem perfectly fine. These spots should only be reserved for the extremely handicapped. Is there any way we can verify this or make it more strict? I have called people out In the past but I’m only one person.

And since you did this without actually knowing their physical condition or ailment, you aren’t making fact based judgements on these people.

You can have disabilities that people can't see, but the people with them can certainly feel them and be affected by them. You can't go by how people look.

Okay here is some honesty. You have no idea if the people you see walking into the store with a slight limp will be in extreme pain by the time they come out.
You have no way of knowing what is going on with their health just by looking at them. Yes there are abusers. But you are in no position to determine who is legitimately handicapped or not.

never applied for one refuse to use one.
Rented one at the apartment til a garage opened up but that was out of pure necessity ,,and not from lack of mandated spaces,, it was from the abuse of reserved spaces

Parking should be based on weight. The heavier you are, the farther away you park.
If you park in the wrong “weight zone”, a spring loaded trap launches you and your car to the back of the parking lot.

Shout out the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. § 12101)...

But someone should be in position to better determine this.
My cousin legitimately saw a current, at the time. NfL running back use a handicap sticker to park in front of a Dicks Sporting Goods

Most are mentally handicapped

Handicap and curbside pickup take up 10-20 spaces in front of the store. It’s a bit absurd.

Your post history indicates your mental handicap is sufficient for a blue rear view mirror hanger

Everybody is white knighting for them here, but the vast majority of people who park in handicapped spaces and aren't obviously disabled are parasites gaming the system.
