How do you get caught in a hurricane?

Three weeks: There is a hurricane coming
Two weeks: The hurricane will definitely make landfall
One week: The hurricane will hit this specified area at 3:54 pm in one week
Two days: The hurricane will hit Joe Smith's backyard at 3:54 pm in two days
Day 0 3:54 pm: Okay, the hurricane is FINALLY here and in Joe Smith's backyard.

In my part the country it is different.

Day of storm: We might get a tornado.
5 minutes later: There it is....RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

Whew...

Great now there will be a cat 5 storm heading straight for New Orleans that will then stall and dump 40 inches of rain on BR and 30 inches of rain on Jackson Ms causing the Ross Barnett Reservoir dam to break and flood Jackson Ms and everything south of it on the Pearl River.

Thanks for proving my point Rize. Not a lot there after 9/6

Are you as blind as your reading comprehension indicates?

Out of the 19 dates offered, 10 of them are after Sept. 6

More than half of them.

Not yet. It has been nice not tracking storms.

Yes . . . absolutely.

I've never heard of any hurricane hitting the Gulf Coast in September.

Forecasts are not this accurate. See Ida. It swung east by about 50 miles as I was tracking it over the last day.

Remember this one well..that storm was all over the place.

I was hanging out with friends in Mandeville one night…came home and my parents were going nuts. Nash Roberts said Lake Pontchartrain was going to rock back and forth and engulf the Northshore.

We evacuated and ended up at Percy Quinn state park where..the hurricane came directly over.

Pretty interesting read… The hurricane's unpredictable shifts in direction created what was considered the largest peacetime evacuation in the nation's history.

Not sure if anybody mentioned it, but the height of hurricane season is September 10. We are not even at the season height yet. Star celebrations when we get to Oct 15.

Haven't made it out by any means, but hope you're right about being unscathed. Damages are one thing, but I hate dealing with insurance companies that try and low ball everything.

No. There were storms up into October in 2005.

And you NEVER tempt the fates....

You need to self ban yourself for at least a month.

Yes. You should also drive with hazards on during rain.
