I had mine at a plantation last October. No one has said shite to me. They also didn’t say shite to me when I went blackface for Halloween in 2012.

As a black man. There's no way in good conscience that I could ever do so. I probably wouldn't attend one at a plantation home either, but idk for sure.

I never thought about the racist angle of plantation homes until about 7 or 8 years ago I installed computer equipment in schools in St James parish. One of the black guys I worked with (he’s a really cool guy and hard worker, this was just funny) would buy breakfast in BR and wait until we passed one of those homes and then throw it all out the window.
That was him ‘Sticking it to the man”. Then, he went on to work 8-10 hours a day.

We had ours at Southern Oak Plantation in Nola.

So just burn then all down? Erase them from history? Seems like they are trying to make a new positive legacy with these old homes. The past happened. It’s a shame and a sin but it is what it is.

Destroying them will eventually be the goal. The first step is to prevent them from being able to prevent them from making money to maintain them.

I don't care what happens to it. I have better things to do in my life than to protest some shitty wedding venues. But if they were all shut down I would not lose an ounce of sleep. I don't care to glorify places I would have been enslaved 160 years ago

I literally just had a wedding at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, and I'd be lying if I didn't express concern over that entire establishment getting burned to the ground by some angry mob.

I have a friend who works in the museum community here in SC. The plantations in the Lowcountry that are open to the public for tours have been getting threats from people the last few months. The SC Archives as well, for the crime of housing the original SC Articles of Secession, one of the most important documents in American history. These cancel culture people are Bolsheviks.
