re: Is it racist to have your wedding at a plantation?

Is the dress a Confederate flag? Are their tuxedos designed to look like Confederate uniforms?

I mean, I would imagine that most people want to have their weddings at a beautiful place. In spite of the past associated with plantations, many people do see the beauty in the grounds. Oak Alley isn’t famous because of the house itself (IIRC, the oaks were planted prior to the house or plantations existence.

Associating a wedding with racism due solely on the location of the event is ludicrous.

If that is the standard, plan on tourism dying. Hell, even City Park in NYC was founded in racist propaganda (spread by the media of the time no less). Should it be bulldozed, filled in, paved over, and used for large scale project housing? WTF, based on the stupidity exhibited by today’s protesters, why not?

That's exactly why I always laugh when they say these statues should be in a museum and not displayed in public knowing full well that they'll eventually say a museum isn't an appropriate place for such hateful symbols.

I just don't see how people haven't grasped this concept by now. And I called the plantation home issue a few years ago. Their destruction is inevitable.

There's nothing and I mean absolutely nothing wrong about having a wedding at a plantation. It's actually a pretty good idea. Plantations are nice as hell, except if you have one there in the summer. It would be hot as frick.
