I pay every 6 months. Last year i was paid around $900-1000 in march and in october. My 6 month bill is now over $1300. No tickets, no accidents. I'm switching insurance in march, or moving out of the state, bc frick that.

I understand the risks involved living on the Gulf Coast and there's not a lot we can do to reduce it, but auto insurance is off the charts stupid. One would think our politicos could work on that.
Link to information below
The national average of auto insurance premiums dropped by 6% from last year to $1,428 – with rates falling in the majority of states, while rising or staying flat in nine states, suggesting the Covid pandemic forced many drivers to stay off the roads.
Louisiana’s insurance rates jumped by 19% from last year, to an average annual premium of $2,839, about double the national average, partly because of its large number of uninsured and underinsured drivers – about 11.7% of drivers in the state are currently uninsured.
After Louisiana, the states with the highest average insurance costs are Michigan ($2,112), Florida ($2,082), California ($1,966) and Missouri ($1,895).

You can't be involved in an accident in LA without getting a lawyer.
It's the only way to "insure" that they hold up to the proper benefits of their policy.
My son was involved in an accident that was 100% the other driver's fault. I went to the scene and he told me so. Got all of his information and tried to keep him from being ticketed.
6 weeks later to get a check from the other drivers insurance. Had to get legal representation to make that happen. This almost exact scenario has taken place 2 more times since that day 5 years ago, including a recent drunk driver who hit my kid's vehicle from behind and left the scene.
I absolutely loathe that the first thing that comes to mind in an unfortunate accident with no injuries is that I need to get a lawyer.

USAA…just renewed, went up about 35$ per month, 1378 for 6 months. We had a claim but not wife’s fault, wouldn’t think that would affect… here is what they said
quote:
With this renewal, your premium has increased due to a rate change in your state or because of your policy's individual risk characteristic

We have as much as possible bundled with Allstate. Rate increases have happened but are mild. We’ve been with them a long time.

My total insurance premiums (auto, home, umbrella, etc) are up 57% since 2020. No claims

State farm did the same to us. Not a single issue in 20 years. Went up 25%

If you have farm bureau call them and ask about the conversion. Mine went down from ~500 month 25/50/25 to ~300 month. They never would have contacted us otherwise.

Same. I went up 40% YOY, no claims or tix. Nothing we can do though

Funny thing, 80% of my premium is for gov-mandated liability coverage.
Question: what happens if no gov-mandated liability coverage???

They all do that bs if you stay long enough

Mine went up about 20% YoY. No tickets… no accidents. I called and inquired and they just have a canned response from corporate about inflation.
